While they curse, may you bless; may those who attack me be put to shame, but may your servant rejoice.

他愛咒罵，願咒罵臨到他；他不喜愛祝福，願祝福遠離他。

上帝對巴蘭說：『你不可和他們一同去，也不可咒詛那族，因為那族是蒙祝福的。』

因此主永恆主這麼說：『看吧，我的僕人必有的喫，但你們呢，卻要饑餓；看吧，我的僕人必有的喝，但你們呢，卻要乾渴；看吧，我的僕人必歡喜，但你們呢，卻要蒙羞；看吧，我的僕人必因心裏高興而歡呼，但你們呢，卻要因心裏傷痛而哀叫，因心靈破碎而哀號。你們留下的、只是你們的名、做我選民引為咒詛的方式罷了：主永恆主必殺死你們；必用別的名去稱呼他的僕人。故此那在地上給自己祝福的、必憑着真誠可靠的上帝來自己祝福；那在地上起誓的、必指着真誠可靠的上帝來起誓；因為先前的患難已被忘記了，已從我眼前隱藏掉了。

看哪，我奉命來祝福；上帝既祝福，我不能收回。

在雅各中沒有觀兆頭，在以色列中並沒有占卜；到時對雅各和以色列總有話說：「上帝為他行了何等大的事！」

王說：『洗魯雅的兒子啊，你們與我就不同意了。他咒罵，若是因為永恆主吩咐他「要咒罵大衛」那麼誰敢說：「你為甚麼這樣行呢？」』大衛又對亞比篩和眾臣僕說：『看哪，我親腹出的兒子尚且尋索我的性命，何況現在這便雅憫人呢？由他咒罵吧；因為這是永恆主吩咐他的。或者永恆主見我遭難，為了我今天被這人咒罵，永恆主就以福報我也不一定。』於是大衛和跟隨的人沿路上走；示每也在山邊、跟大衛平行，一面走，一面咒罵，又拿石頭平行地打他，拿塵土揚他。

轉臉注視着信仰上的開創者和完成者耶穌：他為了那擺在他前頭的喜樂，就堅忍着十字架，輕看羞辱，如今已在上帝的右邊坐着呢。
