Turn their insults back on their own heads. Give them over as plunder in a land of captivity. (niv)

He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. (niv)

Remember, Lord, how your servant has been mocked, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the nations,the taunts with which your enemies, Lord, have mocked, with which they have mocked every step of your anointed one. (niv)

The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said,“ He saved others; let him save himself if he is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.” (niv)

But I pray to you, Lord, in the time of your favor; in your great love, O God, answer me with your sure salvation.Rescue me from the mire, do not let me sink; deliver me from those who hate me, from the deep waters.Do not let the floodwaters engulf me or the depths swallow me up or the pit close its mouth over me.Answer me, Lord, out of the goodness of your love; in your great mercy turn to me. You have made us a reproach to our neighbors, the scorn and derision of those around us.You have made us a byword among the nations; the peoples shake their heads at us.I live in disgrace all day long, and my face is covered with shameat the taunts of those who reproach and revile me, because of the enemy, who is bent on revenge.
