而為風定輕重，按分量支配眾水。他為雨露立規矩，為雷電定路線。

火與冰雹，雪和煙氣，執行他的命令的狂風，

然而永恆主卻將大風拋擲在海上，海上就起了大風暴；船很像要破壞的樣子。

他降雨在地面上，他送水於野外；

過了很多日子、永恆主的話在第三年又傳與以利亞、說：『你去，使亞哈看見你；我將要降雨在地上了。

以利亞對亞哈說：『你可以上去喫喝；因為有淋雨的怒號聲了。』亞哈就上去喫喝。以利亞上了迦密山頂，俯伏於地，將臉放在兩膝之間。對僮僕說：『你上去，沿往海的路向觀望。』僮僕就上去觀望，說：『沒有甚麼。』他說：『你再去七次就好了。』第七次僮僕說：『看哪，有一小片密雲、像人的手掌那麼大、從海裏上來。』以利亞說：『你上去、對亞哈說：「要套車下去，免得淋雨阻擋了你。」霎時間、天因風雲而黑暗，就降下了大雨來。亞哈便坐車、往耶斯列去了。

風隨意地吹，你聽見它的響聲，卻不知道它從哪裏來，往哪裏去；凡由靈生的、就是這樣。』

『你進過雪庫，或見過雹倉麼？這雪雹乃是我所存貯，以備降災之時，交鋒爭戰之日的：你見過麼？霧氣從哪一路分開，東風從哪一路分散於地上呢？『誰為大雨水破分水道？為雷電開路線？使雨下於無人之地，無人居住的曠野，使窮荒淒涼之地得以豐足，渴澤之地能生嫩草呢？『雨有父親麼？露水珠是誰生的？

外國人虛無的神之中有能降霖雨的麼？天能自降甘霖麼？能如此的豈不是你、永恆主我們的上帝麼？所以我們仍等候着你，因為是你行了這一切事。

地上還沒有草木，田野的菜蔬還沒有長起來，因為永恆主上帝還沒有降雨在地上，也沒有人耕種土地；不過有泉源從地裏上來，灌溉地面。

他吩咐一聲，狂風就起立，海中的波浪就揚起。
