For troubles without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails within me.Be pleased to save me, Lord; come quickly, Lord, to help me.

But as for me, I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; you are my God, do not delay.

I am worn out calling for help; my throat is parched. My eyes fail, looking for my God.

Do you show your wonders to the dead? Do their spirits rise up and praise you?Is your love declared in the grave, your faithfulness in Destruction?

Do not be far from me, my God; come quickly, God, to help me.

I will not accuse them forever, nor will I always be angry, for then they would faint away because of me— the very people I have created.

For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.

I will wait for the Lord, who is hiding his face from the descendants of Jacob. I will put my trust in him.

People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
