最后雅各独自留下。那夜，有一个人与雅各摔跤，直到黎明。那人见自己胜不过他，就碰了他的大腿窝；于是雅各与那人摔跤的时候，大腿窝就脱节了。那人说：“天亮了，让我走吧！”雅各说：“你不祝福我，我就不让你走。”那人问他：“你叫什么名字？”他回答：“雅各。”那人说：“你的名字不要再叫雅各，而要叫以色列，因为你已经与神与人较力，并且得胜了。”雅各问他说：“请把你的名字告诉我。”那人说：“为什么要问我的名字呢？”他就在那里祝福了雅各。

主啊，我现在等候什么呢？我的期盼就在于你！

‘你们要对约瑟这样说：从前你哥哥们恶待你，求你饶恕他们的过犯和罪恶。’现在求你饶恕你父亲之神的仆人们的过犯。”他们对约瑟说这话时，约瑟就哭了。

耶和华万军之神哪，求你垂听我的祷告！雅各的神哪，求你倾听！细拉

藉着基督，你们信靠那使他从死人中复活、又赐他荣耀的神，以致你们的信仰和盼望也都在于神。

万军之耶和华与我们同在，雅各的神是我们的庇护所。细拉

万军之耶和华啊，那依靠你的人，是蒙福的！
