The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

The Lord watches over the outsiders who live in our land. He takes good care of children whose fathers have died. He also takes good care of widows. But he causes evil people to fail in everything they do.

The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.

The Lord protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.

不可欺负寄居的，也不可压迫他，因为你们在埃及地也作过寄居的。不可苦待任何孤儿寡妇。

万军之耶和华说：“我必临近你们施行审判；我要快快指证那些行邪术的、犯奸淫的、起假誓的、在工钱上欺压雇工的、欺压孤儿寡妇的、屈枉寄居的和不敬畏我的。”

他为孤儿寡妇伸张正义，又把衣食给寄居的人。所以你们要爱寄居的人，因为你们在埃及地也作过寄居的人。

恶人的道路幽暗，他们不知道自己因什么跌倒。

于是他们把哈曼挂在他为末底改预备的木架上；王的忿怒才渐渐止息。

在父神看来，纯洁无玷污的虔诚，就是照顾患难中的孤儿寡妇，并且保守自己不被世俗所污染。

因为这世界的智慧，在神看来是愚笨的，如经上所记：“他使有智慧的人中了自己的诡计。”

亚希多弗见自己的谋略不被采纳，就预备了驴子，起程往本城自己的家去。他安排好了家里的事，就上吊死了，埋葬在他父亲的坟墓里。

又挫败狡猾人的计谋，使他们的手所作的无法成全；他使有智慧的人中了自己的诡计，使奸诈人的谋算快快失败。他们白天遇见黑暗，中午摸索如在夜间。

我的神啊！求你使他们像旋风卷起的草，像风前的碎秸。火怎样焚烧树林，火焰怎样燃烧群山，求你也照样用狂风追赶他们，藉暴风雨惊吓他们。耶和华啊！求你使他们满面羞愧，好使他们寻求你的名。愿他们永远受辱惊惶，愿他们抱愧灭亡。

亚述不能救我们，我们必不再骑马；我们亲手所做的，我们必不再称为‘我们的神’；因为在你那里，孤儿才得着怜悯。”

耶和华保护所有爱他的人，却要消灭所有恶人。

耶和华必拆毁骄傲人的家，却要立定寡妇的地界。

你和你的儿女、仆婢，以及在你城里的利未人、在你们中间的寄居者、孤儿和寡妇，都要在耶和华你的神选择作他名的居所的地方欢乐。

他的妻子细利斯和他所有的朋友都对他说：“叫人立一个二十二公尺高的木架，明早求王，把末底改挂在上面，然后你可以欢欢喜喜地与王一同赴筵席了。”这话使哈曼很满意，就叫人做了木架。

有人告诉大卫说：“亚希多弗也在押沙龙的叛党之中。”大卫祷告说：“耶和华啊，求你使亚希多弗的计谋变为愚拙。”

对清洁的人，你显出你的清洁；对狡诈的人，你显出你的机巧。

但这事呈到王面前以后，王使用文书降旨吩咐，使哈曼计谋的恶事，就是他设谋陷害犹大人的事归到他自己的头上，又使人把他和他的众子挂在木架上。
