戰馬徒有力。佳兵安足恃。戰馬與佳兵。皆非主所喜。

His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;

He doesn’t take pleasure in the strength of horses. He doesn’t take delight in the strong legs of warriors.

His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of a man,

He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might.

He is not impressed by the strength of a horse; he does not value the power of a warrior.

Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek Jehovah!

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will make mention of the name of Jehovah our God.

The glory of his snorting is terrible.He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: He goeth out to meet the armed men.He mocketh at fear, and is not dismayed; Neither turneth he back from the sword.The quiver rattleth against him, The flashing spear and the javelin.He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage; Neither believeth he that it is the voice of the trumpet.As oft as the trumpet soundeth he saith, Aha! And he smelleth the battle afar off, The thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

And the three sons of Zeruiah were there, Joab, and Abishai, and Asahel: and Asahel was as light of foot as a wild roe.And Asahel pursued after Abner; and in going he turned not to the right hand nor to the left from following Abner.Then Abner looked behind him, and said, Is it thou, Asahel? But Asahel would not turn aside from following him.And Abner said again to Asahel, Turn thee aside from following me: wherefore should I smite thee to the ground? how then should I hold up my face to Joab thy brother?Howbeit he refused to turn aside: wherefore Abner with the hinder end of the spear smote him in the body, so that the spear came out behind him; and he fell down there, and died in the same place: and it came to pass, that as many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died stood still.

Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, And in their death they were not divided: They were swifter than eagles, They were stronger than lions.

The horse is prepared against the day of battle; But victory is of Jehovah.
