求主以手救我、脫離此世界之人、彼眾今生享福、主賜之財寶、滿其所欲、子孫眾多、又將盈餘留於後裔、

更望賜提撕。俾與鄉願隔。鄉願生斯世。但為斯世活。以主無盡藏。暢恣其口腹。金玉既滿堂。有子萬事足。積蓄遺兒孫。繩繩相承續。

By your hand save me from such people, Lord, from those of this world whose reward is in this life. May what you have stored up for the wicked fill their bellies; may their children gorge themselves on it, and may there be leftovers for their little ones.

Lord, by your power save me from people like that. They belong to this world. They get their reward in this life. May what you have stored up for evil people fill their bellies. May their children’s stomachs be filled with it. And may there even be leftovers for their little ones.

from men by your hand, O Lord, from men of the world whose portion is in this life. You fill their womb with treasure; they are satisfied with children, and they leave their abundance to their infants.

By the power of your hand, O Lord, destroy those who look to this world for their reward. But satisfy the hunger of your treasured ones. May their children have plenty, leaving an inheritance for their descendants.

This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’“ This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” (niv)

If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. (niv)

for they will take nothing with them when they die, their splendor will not descend with them.Though while they live they count themselves blessed— and people praise you when you prosper—they will join those who have gone before them, who will never again see the light of life. (niv)

“ The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light. (niv)

Yet it was he who filled their houses with good things, so I stand aloof from the plans of the wicked. (niv)

But he continued,“ You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. (niv)

I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. (niv)

However many his children, their fate is the sword; his offspring will never have enough to eat.The plague will bury those who survive him, and their widows will not weep for them.Though he heaps up silver like dust and clothes like piles of clay,what he lays up the righteous will wear, and the innocent will divide his silver. (niv)

Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? (niv)

“ Surely everyone goes around like a mere phantom; in vain they rush about, heaping up wealth without knowing whose it will finally be. (niv)

Why do the wicked live on, growing old and increasing in power?They see their children established around them, their offspring before their eyes.Their homes are safe and free from fear; the rod of God is not on them.Their bulls never fail to breed; their cows calve and do not miscarry.They send forth their children as a flock; their little ones dance about.They sing to the music of timbrel and lyre; they make merry to the sound of the pipe.They spend their years in prosperity and go down to the grave in peace.Yet they say to God,‘ Leave us alone! We have no desire to know your ways.Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What would we gain by praying to him?’ (niv)

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. (niv)

“ He answered,‘ Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family,for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’ (niv)

For what do they care about the families they leave behind when their allotted months come to an end? (niv)

The tents of marauders are undisturbed, and those who provoke God are secure— those God has in his hand. (niv)

You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. (niv)

and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, (niv)

For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong.They are free from common human burdens; they are not plagued by human ills.Therefore pride is their necklace; they clothe themselves with violence.From their callous hearts comes iniquity; their evil imaginations have no limits. (niv)

“ The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. (niv)

This is what the wicked are like— always free of care, they go on amassing wealth. (niv)
