主曾賜鍛鍊。清夜測吾心。考驗亦云詳。未發纖屑妄。凡我口所言。莫非心所想。我既抱精一。心口豈有兩。

Though you probe my heart, though you examine me at night and test me, you will find that I have planned no evil; my mouth has not transgressed.

Look deep down into my heart. Study me carefully at night and test me. You won’t find anything wrong. I have planned nothing evil. My mouth has not said sinful things.

You have tried my heart, you have visited me by night, you have tested me, and you will find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress.

You have tested my thoughts and examined my heart in the night. You have scrutinized me and found nothing wrong. I am determined not to sin in what I say.

But he knoweth the way that I take:[ when] he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he[ is] like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:

Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.

I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It[ is] my people: and they shall say, The LORD[ is] my God.

He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life:[ but] he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.

O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known[ me].

All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

Behold, this day thine eyes have seen how that the LORD had delivered thee to day into mine hand in the cave: and[ some] bade[ me] kill thee: but[ mine eye] spared thee; and I said, I will not put forth mine hand against my lord; for he[ is] the LORD’S anointed.

For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same[ is] a perfect man,[ and] able also to bridle the whole body.

The LORD forbid that I should stretch forth mine hand against the LORD’S anointed: but, I pray thee, take thou now the spear that[ is] at his bolster, and the cruse of water, and let us go.

The LORD render to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness: for the LORD delivered thee into[ my] hand to day, but I would not stretch forth mine hand against the LORD’S anointed.

If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me;( yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)

The murderer rising with the light killeth the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief.

For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

The LORD judge between me and thee, and the LORD avenge me of thee: but mine hand shall not be upon thee.

For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
