較金寶貴、較極多之精金更加寶貴、甘勝於蜜、較蜂房之蜜尤甘、

天威分明在。萬古永不移。神斷剖黑白。陰隲定是非。

你們當領受我的訓誨，勝過領受銀子，寧得知識，強如得上選的金子。「因為智慧比寶石更美，一切可喜愛的都不足與其比較。

我的果實勝過金子，強如純金，我的出產超乎上選的銀子。

智慧不可用黃金換取，也不能用白銀秤她的價值。俄斐的金子和貴重的紅瑪瑙，以及藍寶石，不足與她比擬；黃金和玻璃不足與她比較；純金的器皿不足兌換她。

百姓進了樹林，看哪，有蜜流出來，卻沒有人敢用手取蜜入口，因為百姓怕那誓言。約拿單沒有聽見他父親叫百姓起誓，所以他伸出手中的杖，以杖頭蘸在蜂房裏，用手取回送入口內，他的眼睛就明亮了。百姓中有一人對他說：「你父親曾叫百姓嚴嚴地起誓說，今日吃東西的人必受詛咒；因此百姓就疲乏了。」約拿單說：「我父親給這地添麻煩了。你們看，我嘗了這一點蜜，眼睛就明亮了。
