但我要問，以色列人沒有聽過嗎？當然聽過。因爲「他們的聲音傳遍天下，他們的話語傳到地極。」

你身披光華如披外袍，你鋪展穹蒼如鋪幔子。

上帝說：「天空要有光體，以區分晝夜，作記號，定節令，計算年日，發光普照大地。」果然如此。上帝造了兩個大光體，較大的管白晝，較小的管黑夜，又造了星辰。上帝把這些光體擺列在天空，讓它們發光普照大地，管理晝夜，分開明暗。上帝看了，感到滿意。

祂沒有忘記以慈愛和信實對待以色列人，普天下都看見我們的上帝拯救了我們。

但必有公義的太陽為你們這些敬畏我名的人升起，它的光芒有醫治的能力。你們必像欄中出來的牛犢一樣歡欣跳躍。

但我們並非漫無邊際地誇口，而是在上帝為我們定下的範圍之內誇口，你們也包括在這範圍之內。其實把你們包括在我們誇口的範圍之內一點都不過分，因為我們曾把基督的福音傳到你們那裡。我們沒有超出範圍拿別人辛勞的成果誇口，只盼望隨著你們信心的增長，我們的範圍也得到極大的擴展，使我們可以把福音傳到你們以外的地方，而不是在別人的工作範圍內拿別人的成就誇口。

祂對我說：「我不僅要你做我的僕人，去復興雅各的眾支派，使以色列的餘民重歸故土，我還要使你成為外族人的光，好把我的救恩帶到地極。」
