Though they plot evil against you and devise wicked schemes, they cannot succeed.

Your enemies make evil plans against you. They think up evil things to do. But they can’t succeed.

The Lord said to me,“ Son of man, these are the men who are plotting evil and giving wicked advice in this city. (niv)

The apostles were brought in and made to appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest.“ We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said.“ Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.” (niv)
