萬軍之耶和華說：“看哪！那日來到，像燒著的火爐一樣；驕傲的和作惡的，都必成為碎稭；那要來的日子，必把他們燒盡，不給他們留下一根一枝。

濃煙從他的鼻孔往上冒，烈火從他的口中噴出來，連炭也燒著了。

我們的神來臨，決不緘默無聲；在他面前有火燃燒，在他四周有暴風颳起。

又要報應那些不認識神、不聽從我們主耶穌的福音的人。

你們要用嘴親吻子，否則他一發怒，你們就在路上滅亡，因為他的怒氣快要發作。凡是投靠他的，都是有福的。

因為在我的怒中有火燃燒起來，燒到陰間的深處，把大地和地的出產盡都吞滅，連山的根基也燒著了。

在他盛怒之下，誰能站得住呢？他的烈怒誰能受得了呢？他的忿怒像火一般噴出來，磐石在他面前都崩裂了。

那時，他必在烈怒中對他們講話，在震怒中使他們驚慌，說：

他們向山嶺和巖石說：“倒在我們身上吧！把我們藏起來，躲避坐在寶座上那位的面，和羊羔的震怒！因為他們震怒的大日子來到了，誰能站立得住呢？”

他手裡拿著簸箕，要揚淨麥場，把麥子收進倉裡，卻用不滅的火把糠秕燒盡。”

現在這些都比海沙更重，所以我冒失發言。

神啊！求你恩待我，因為人要踐踏我；他們終日攻擊我，迫害我。我的仇敵終日踐踏我，攻擊我的人很多。

於是地裂開，吞下了大坍，把亞比蘭一夥的人也掩埋了。

阻撓我們向外族人傳道，不讓他們得救，以致惡貫滿盈。神的忿怒終必臨到他們身上。

死亡和陰間也被拋在火湖裡。這火湖就是第二次的死。

王就發怒，派兵消滅那些兇手，焚毀他們的城。

他們要進入永遠的刑罰，義人卻要進入永生。”

又吩咐他軍隊中幾個最精壯的士兵，把沙得拉、米煞和亞伯尼歌綁起來，扔在烈火的窰中。於是這三個人穿著外袍、長褲、頭巾和身上其他的衣服，被綁起來，扔在烈火的窯中。由於王的命令緊急，窰又燒得非常猛烈，那些把沙得拉、米煞和亞伯尼歌抬起來的人，都被火燄燒死了。

現在斧頭已經放在樹根上，所有不結好果子的樹，就砍下來，丟在火裡。

“王也要對左邊的說：‘你們這被咒詛的，離開我，到為魔鬼和他的使者所預備的永火裡去吧！
