You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit.

Lord, you brought me up from the place of the dead. You kept me from going down into the pit.

You brought me up from the grave, O Lord. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.

LORD, you brought me up from Sheol; you spared me from among those going down to the Pit.

To you, O Lord, I call; my rock, be not deaf to me, lest, if you be silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit.

For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption.

He has redeemed my soul from going down into the pit, and my life shall look upon the light.’

For you have delivered my soul from death, yes, my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.

You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again.

I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry.He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.

Behold, it was for my welfare that I had great bitterness; but in love you have delivered my life from the pit of destruction, for you have cast all my sins behind your back.For Sheol does not thank you; death does not praise you; those who go down to the pit do not hope for your faithfulness.

For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling;

Then I said,‘ I am driven away from your sight; yet I shall again look upon your holy temple.’The waters closed in over me to take my life; the deep surrounded me; weeds were wrapped about my headat the roots of the mountains. I went down to the land whose bars closed upon me forever; yet you brought up my life from the pit, O Lord my God.

“ Man is also rebuked with pain on his bed and with continual strife in his bones,so that his life loathes bread, and his appetite the choicest food.His flesh is so wasted away that it cannot be seen, and his bones that were not seen stick out.His soul draws near the pit, and his life to those who bring death.
