There are more troubles all around me than I can count. My sins have caught up with me, and I can’t see any longer. My sins are more than the hairs of my head. I have lost all hope.

因有無數之災禍圍困我、罪孽罹於我身、望之無極、比髮尤多、使我心寒膽戰、

莫壅爾仁淵源源賜洪恩。但願爾聖道。長作我明燈。

For troubles without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails within me.

For evils have encompassed me beyond number; my iniquities have overtaken me, and I cannot see; they are more than the hairs of my head; my heart fails me.

My guilt has become too much for me. It is a load too heavy to carry.

My body and my heart may grow weak. God, you give strength to my heart. You are everything I will ever need.

Those who hate me without any reason are more than the hairs on my head. Many people who don’t have any reason to be my enemies are trying to destroy me. They force me to give back what I didn’t steal.

But who can know their own mistakes? Forgive my hidden faults.

The ropes of death were wrapped around me. The horrors of the grave came over me. I was overcome by sadness and sorrow.

“ But the tax collector stood farther away than the Pharisee. He would not even look up to heaven. He brought his hand to his heart and prayed. He said,‘ God, have mercy on me. I am a sinner.’“ I tell you, the tax collector went home accepted by God. But not the Pharisee. All those who lift themselves up will be made humble. And those who make themselves humble will be lifted up.”

Christ also suffered once for sins. The one who did what is right suffered for those who don’t do right. He suffered to bring you to God. His body was put to death. But the Holy Spirit brought him back to life.

Terror will make people faint. They will be worried about what is happening in the world. The sun, moon and stars will be shaken from their places.

All of us are like sheep. We have wandered away from God. All of us have turned to our own way. And the Lord has placed on his servant the sins of all of us.

“ My money has been given back,” he said to his brothers.“ Here it is in my sack.” They had a sinking feeling in their hearts. They began to tremble. They turned to one another and said,“ What has God done to us?”

Don’t be far away from me. Trouble is near, and there is no one to help me.Many enemies are all around me. They are like strong bulls from the land of Bashan.They are like roaring lions that tear to pieces what they kill. They open their mouths wide to attack me.My strength is like water that is poured out on the ground. I feel as if my bones aren’t connected. My heart has turned to wax. It has melted away inside me.My mouth is dried up like a piece of broken pottery. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You bring me down to the edge of the grave.A group of sinful people has closed in on me. They are all around me like a pack of dogs. They have pierced my hands and my feet.Everyone can see all my bones right through my skin. People stare at me. They laugh when I suffer.They divide up my clothes among them. They cast lots for what I am wearing.Lord, don’t be so far away from me. You give me strength. Come quickly to help me.

We have a high priest who can feel it when we are weak and hurting. We have a high priest who has been tempted in every way, just as we are. But he did not sin.
