Sacrifice and offering you did not desire— but my ears you have opened— burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require.

You didn’t want sacrifices and offerings. You didn’t require burnt offerings and sin offerings. You opened my ears so that I could hear you and obey you.

In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted, but you have given me an open ear. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required.

You take no delight in sacrifices or offerings. Now that you have made me listen, I finally understand— you don’t require burnt offerings or sin offerings.

耶和華說：「你們許多的祭物於我何益呢？公綿羊的燔祭和肥畜的油脂，我已經膩煩了；公牛、羔羊、公山羊的血，我都不喜悅。

所以，基督到世上來的時候，就說：「祭物和禮物不是你所要的，但你曾給我預備了身體。燔祭和贖罪祭是你不喜歡的。那時我說：看哪！我來了，我的事在經卷上已經記載了；上帝啊！我來為要照你的旨意行。」以上說：「祭物和禮物，以及燔祭和贖罪祭，不是你所要的，也不是你喜歡的。」這都是按着律法獻的。他接着說：「看哪！我來了，為要照你的旨意行。」可見他除去在先的，為要立定在後的。我們憑着這旨意，藉着耶穌基督，僅只一次獻上他的身體就得以成聖。所有的祭司天天站着事奉上帝，屢次獻上一樣的祭物，這祭物永不能除罪。但基督獻了一次永遠有效的贖罪祭，就坐在上帝的右邊，

撒母耳說：「耶和華喜愛燔祭和祭物，豈如喜愛人聽從他的話呢？看哪，聽命勝於獻祭，順從勝於公羊的脂肪。

你本不喜愛祭物，若喜愛，我就獻上；燔祭你也不喜悅。

上帝就開通世人的耳朵，把警告印在他們心上，

你們雖然向我獻燔祭和素祭，我卻不悅納，也不看你們用肥畜獻的平安祭。

萬軍之耶和華－以色列的上帝如此說：「你們要將燔祭加在你們的祭物上，又要吃肉；因為我將你們祖先從埃及地領出來的那日，燔祭和祭物的事我並沒有提說，也沒有吩咐他們。我只吩咐他們這一件事說：『你們當聽從我的話，我就作你們的上帝，你們也作我的子民。你們行走我所吩咐的一切道路，就可以得福。』

我喜愛慈愛，不喜愛祭物；喜愛人認識上帝，勝於燔祭。

『我喜愛憐憫，不喜愛祭祀。』你們若明白這話的意思，就不將無罪的當作有罪了。

經上說：『我喜愛憐憫，不喜愛祭祀。』這句話的意思，你們去揣摩。我不是來召義人，而是召罪人。」

他的主人就要帶他到審判官前，再帶他到門或門框那裏，用錐子穿他的耳朵，他就要永遠服事主人。

主耶和華賜我受教者的舌頭，使我知道怎樣用言語扶助疲乏的人。主每天早晨喚醒，喚醒我的耳朵，使我能聽，像受教者一樣。主耶和華開啟我的耳朵，我並未違背，也未退後。

「至於那些宰牛，殺人，獻羔羊，打斷狗頸項，獻豬血為供物，燒乳香，稱頌偶像的，他們選擇自己的道路，心裏喜愛可憎惡的事；

我並不因你的祭物責備你；你的燔祭常在我面前。
