上帝歟、尚其為我折中、辨屈於不虔之國、援我於詭譎不義之人兮、

民俱不仁、詭譎殘賊兮、予望上帝、伸我冤而援手兮、

求天主在不仁不義之民中、為我伸冤、拯救我脫離奸詐邪惡之人、

何群逆之詭譎兮。惟殘害之為務。求主一測予之中情兮。吾固不與彼同度。主其伸予之冤兮。辨予之誣。

Vindicate me, my God, and plead my cause against an unfaithful nation. Rescue me from those who are deceitful and wicked.

My God, when you hand down your decision, let it be in my favor. Stand up for me against an unfaithful nation. Save me from those lying and sinful people.

Declare me innocent, O God! Defend me against these ungodly people. Rescue me from these unjust liars.

The Lord judges the peoples; judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness and according to the integrity that is in me.

You destroy those who speak lies; the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

And it was told David,“ Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” And David said,“ O Lord, please turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.”

for their Redeemer is strong; he will plead their cause against you.

but it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another.

for the Lord will plead their cause and rob of life those who rob them.

I will bear the indignation of the Lord because I have sinned against him, until he pleads my cause and executes judgment for me. He will bring me out to the light; I shall look upon his vindication.

Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and cruel man.

For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me.

When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.

Then Absalom said to Ahithophel,“ Give your counsel. What shall we do?”Ahithophel said to Absalom,“ Go in to your father’s concubines, whom he has left to keep the house, and all Israel will hear that you have made yourself a stench to your father, and the hands of all who are with you will be strengthened.”So they pitched a tent for Absalom on the roof. And Absalom went in to his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.Now in those days the counsel that Ahithophel gave was as if one consulted the word of God; so was all the counsel of Ahithophel esteemed, both by David and by Absalom.Moreover, Ahithophel said to Absalom,“ Let me choose twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue David tonight.I will come upon him while he is weary and discouraged and throw him into a panic, and all the people who are with him will flee. I will strike down only the king,and I will bring all the people back to you as a bride comes home to her husband. You seek the life of only one man, and all the people will be at peace.”And the advice seemed right in the eyes of Absalom and all the elders of Israel.
