But to the wicked God says,“ What right do you have to tell of My statutes And to take My covenant in your mouth?

但神对恶人说：“你怎敢传说我的律例，口中提到我的约呢？

但上帝对恶人说：“你怎敢传讲我的律例，口中提到我的约呢？

但神对恶人说：“你怎敢传讲我的律例，口中提到我的约呢？

但上帝对恶人说：“你怎能背诵我的律法，谈论我的约？

但神对恶人说：“你怎么敢述说我的律例，你的口怎么敢提到我的约呢？

但神对恶人说：“你凭什么讲述我的律例，口中提起我的约呢？

但神對惡人說：你怎敢傳說我的律例，口中提到我的約呢？

但上帝對惡人說：「你怎敢傳講我的律例，口中提到我的約呢？

但神對惡人說：「你怎敢傳講我的律例，口中提到我的約呢？

但上帝對惡人說：「你怎能背誦我的律法，談論我的約？

對惡人呢、上帝卻說：『你有甚麼權利可以背誦我的律例，口中提到我的約呢？

但神對惡人說：「你憑什麼講述我的律例，口中提起我的約呢？

上帝語惡人曰、爾奚稱道我律、口言我約、

上帝語惡人曰、爾何假我律例、藉予聖教、

天主向惡人曰、爾為何傳述我之律法、口講我之盟約、

主語作惡者。何事研玉律。口頭誦盟約。心中存乖逆。

But to the wicked person, God says:“ What right have you to recite my laws or take my covenant on your lips?

But here is what God says to a sinful person.“ What right do you have to speak the words of my laws? How dare you speak the words of my covenant!

But to the wicked God says:“ What right have you to recite my statutes or take my covenant on your lips?

But God says to the wicked:“ Why bother reciting my decrees and pretending to obey my covenant?

But God says to the wicked:“ What right do you have to recite my statutes and to take my covenant on your lips?

But to the wicked God says:“ What right have you to declare My statutes, Or take My covenant in your mouth,

But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, And that thou hast taken my covenant in thy mouth,

But God says to the wicked:“ What right do you have to recite My statutes and to take My covenant on your lips?

But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or[ that] thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?

God says this to the evildoer:“ How can you declare my commands, and talk about my covenant?

But to the wicked God says,“ What right do you have to declare my statutes, that you have taken my covenant on your lips,

Then the Lord said,“ Because this people approaches Me with their words And honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me, And their reverence for Me consists of the commandment of men that is taught;

But they flattered Him with their mouth And lied to Him with their tongue.For their heart was not steadfast toward Him, Nor were they faithful with His covenant.But He, being compassionate, forgave their wrongdoing and did not destroy them; And often He restrained His anger And did not stir up all His wrath.

“ What are your many sacrifices to Me?” Says the Lord.“ I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams And the fat of fattened cattle; And I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls, lambs, or goats.When you come to appear before Me, Who requires of you this trampling of My courtyards?Do not go on bringing your worthless offerings, Incense is an abomination to Me. New moon and Sabbath, the proclamation of an assembly— I cannot endure wrongdoing and the festive assembly.I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts, They have become a burden to Me; I am tired of bearing them.So when you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; Yes, even though you offer many prayers, I will not be listening. Your hands are covered with blood.

but I strictly discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

“ There is no peace for the wicked,” says the Lord.

Do not trust in deceptive words, saying,‘ This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.’For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly practice justice between a person and his neighbor,if you do not oppress the stranger, the orphan, or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor follow other gods to your own ruin,then I will let you live in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.

“ Cry loudly, do not hold back; Raise your voice like a trumpet, And declare to My people their wrongdoing, And to the house of Jacob their sins.Yet they seek Me day by day and delight to know My ways, As a nation that has done righteousness And has not forsaken the ordinance of their God. They ask Me for just decisions, They delight in the nearness of God.‘ Why have we fasted and You do not see? Why have we humbled ourselves and You do not notice?’ Behold, on the day of your fast you find your desire, And oppress all your workers.Behold, you fast for contention and strife, and to strike with a wicked fist. You do not fast like you have done today to make your voice heard on high!Is it a fast like this that I choose, a day for a person to humble himself? Is it for bowing one’s head like a reed And for spreading out sackcloth and ashes as a bed? Will you call this a fast, even an acceptable day to the Lord?Is this not the fast that I choose: To release the bonds of wickedness, To undo the ropes of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free, And break every yoke?Is it not to break your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh?

But also some of the Jewish exorcists, who went from place to place, attempted to use the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had the evil spirits, saying,“ I order you in the name of Jesus whom Paul preaches!”Now there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, doing this.But the evil spirit responded and said to them,“ I recognize Jesus, and I know of Paul, but who are you?”And the man in whom was the evil spirit, pounced on them and subdued all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

“ I will make you pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant;and I will purge from you the rebels and those who revolt against Me; I will bring them out of the land where they reside, but they will not enter the land of Israel. So you will know that I am the Lord.

But when a wicked person turns away from his wickedness which he has committed and practices justice and righteousness, he will save his life.

But if you call yourself a Jew and rely upon the Law and boast in God,and know His will and distinguish the things that matter, being instructed from the Law,and are confident that you yourself are a guide to people who are blind, a light to those in darkness,a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of the immature, possessing in the Law the embodiment of knowledge and of the truth—you, therefore, who teach someone else, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that one is not to steal, do you steal?You who say that one is not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who loathe idols, do you rob temples?You who boast in the Law, through your breaking the Law, do you dishonor God?For“ the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” just as it is written.

Many will say to Me on that day,‘ Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’And then I will declare to them,‘ I never knew you; leave Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

abandoning the right way, they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the reward of unrighteousness;

God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Not like the covenant which I made with their fathers On the day I took them by the hand To bring them out of the land of Egypt; For they did not continue in My covenant, And I did not care about them, says the Lord.

Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near.Let the wicked abandon his way, And the unrighteous person his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

“ Hear this, house of Jacob, who are named Israel And who came from the waters of Judah, Who swear by the name of the Lord And invoke the God of Israel, But not in truth nor in righteousness.For they name themselves after the holy city, And lean on the God of Israel; The Lord of armies is His name.

Like useless legs to one who cannot walk, So is a proverb in the mouths of fools.

The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him, And He will make them know His covenant.

Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?Or how can you say to your brother,‘ Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and look, the log is in your own eye?You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye!
