Beautiful in elevation, The joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion on the sides of the north, The city of the great King.

Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who dwell between the cherubim, shine forth!

God came from Teman, The Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah His glory covered the heavens, And the earth was full of His praise.His brightness was like the light; He had rays flashing from His hand, And there His power was hidden.

All who pass by clap their hands at you; They hiss and shake their heads At the daughter of Jerusalem:“ Is this the city that is called‘ The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth’?”

The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.

O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs— O God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth!

For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven,whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying,“ Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.”
