他們既有這些罪，難道還能逃脫嗎？神哪，求你在怒氣中使這民眾敗落！

恃惡豈能免罰、上帝歟、尚其發怒、傾覆斯族兮、

彼惟作惡、曷能逭罰、上帝兮、怒責斯民、使之隕墜。

彼眾作惡、豈能逃脫、求天主震怒、使此民墮落、

鳩眾埋伏。窺我蹤跡。處心積慮。欲褫我魄。

Because of their wickedness do not let them escape; in your anger, God, bring the nations down.

Because they are so evil, make sure you don’t let them escape. God, bring down the nations in your anger.

For their crime will they escape? In wrath cast down the peoples, O God!

Don’t let them get away with their wickedness; in your anger, O God, bring them down.

Will they escape in spite of such sin? God, bring down the nations in wrath.

Remember that I stood before you and spoke in their behalf to turn your wrath away from them.So give their children over to famine; hand them over to the power of the sword. Let their wives be made childless and widows; let their men be put to death, their young men slain by the sword in battle.Let a cry be heard from their houses when you suddenly bring invaders against them, for they have dug a pit to capture me and have hidden snares for my feet.But you, Lord, know all their plots to kill me. Do not forgive their crimes or blot out their sins from your sight. Let them be overthrown before you; deal with them in the time of your anger. (niv)

Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the peoples who do not call on your name. For they have devoured Jacob; they have devoured him completely and destroyed his homeland. (niv)

You boast,“ We have entered into a covenant with death, with the realm of the dead we have made an agreement. When an overwhelming scourge sweeps by, it cannot touch us, for we have made a lie our refuge and falsehood our hiding place.” (niv)

Lord, confuse the wicked, confound their words, for I see violence and strife in the city. (niv)

Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrongdoing. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves? (niv)

As no one has power over the wind to contain it, so no one has power over the time of their death. As no one is discharged in time of war, so wickedness will not release those who practice it. (niv)

See how the evildoers lie fallen— thrown down, not able to rise! (niv)

Can a corrupt throne be allied with you— a throne that brings on misery by its decrees?The wicked band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. (niv)
