For God is the judge! He brings one down and exalts another.

惟有神断定；他使这人降卑，使那人升高。

或東或西。乃至遐壤。上下八方。靡可仰仗。

It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.

God is the one who judges. He says to one person,“ You are guilty.” To another he says,“ You are not guilty.”

but it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another.

It is God alone who judges; he decides who will rise and who will fall.

for God is the Judge: He brings down one and exalts another.

He has brought down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up those of lowly position;

He changes times and seasons, deposing some kings and establishing others. He gives wisdom to the wise; he imparts knowledge to those with understanding;he reveals deep and hidden things. He knows what is in the darkness, and light resides with him.

The LORD lifts up the oppressed, but knocks the wicked to the ground.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that remains, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.

The LORD impoverishes and makes wealthy; he humbles and he exalts.He lifts the weak from the dust; he raises the poor from the ash heap to seat them with princes and to bestow on them an honored position. The foundations of the earth belong to the LORD, and he has placed the world on them.

Samuel said to him,“ The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day and has given it to one of your colleagues who is better than you!

David replied to Michal,“ It was before the LORD! I was celebrating before the LORD, who chose me over your father and his entire family and appointed me as leader over the LORD’s people Israel.

Abner advised the elders of Israel,“ Previously you were wanting David to be your king.Act now! For the LORD has said to David,‘ By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel from the Philistines and from all their enemies.’”

Charge them to give their masters a message from me. Tell them,‘ The LORD God of Israel who rules over all says to give your masters this message.“ I made the earth and the people and animals on it by my mighty power and great strength, and I give it to whomever I see fit.I have at this time placed all these nations of yours under the power of my servant, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. I have even made all the wild animals subject to him.All nations must serve him and his son and grandson until the time comes for his own nation to fall. Then many nations and great kings will in turn subjugate Babylon.But suppose a nation or a kingdom will not be subject to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. Suppose it will not submit to the yoke of servitude to him. I, the LORD, affirm that I will punish that nation. I will use the king of Babylon to punish it with war, starvation, and disease until I have destroyed it.

The LORD said to Samuel,“ How long do you intend to mourn for Saul? I have rejected him as king over Israel. Fill your horn with olive oil and go! I am sending you to Jesse in Bethlehem, for I have selected a king for myself from among his sons.”

He raises the poor from the dirt, and lifts up the needy from the garbage pile,that he might seat him with princes, with the princes of his people.

In the past, when Saul was our king, you were the real leader in Israel. The LORD said to you,‘ You will shepherd my people Israel; you will rule over Israel.’”

For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and presumption is like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has rejected you as king.”

But when the one who set me apart from birth and called me by his grace was pleased

Then observers will say,“ Yes indeed, the godly are rewarded! Yes indeed, there is a God who judges in the earth!”

As for you, O king, the most high God bestowed on your father Nebuchadnezzar a kingdom, greatness, honor, and majesty.

“ You, O king, are the king of kings. The God of heaven has granted you sovereignty, power, strength, and honor.

For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
