上帝乃慈、赦宥其罪、不加殄滅、屢回其怒、不盡洩其忿兮、

上帝矜憫無涯、赦宥頻加、不忍翦滅、屢遏其怒、不奮其威兮、

主仍發憐恤、赦免罪愆、不施行毀滅、屢次轉怒回嗔、不欲發之殆盡、

慈懷包荒。赦其罪孽。惡雖盈貫。未予殲滅。不為已甚。聖怒屢戢。

Yet he was merciful; he forgave their iniquities and did not destroy them. Time after time he restrained his anger and did not stir up his full wrath.

But he was full of tender love. He forgave their sins and didn’t destroy his people. Time after time he held back his anger. He didn’t let all his burning anger blaze out.

Yet he, being compassionate, atoned for their iniquity and did not destroy them; he restrained his anger often and did not stir up all his wrath.

Yet he was merciful and forgave their sins and did not destroy them all. Many times he held back his anger and did not unleash his fury!

“我为我的名暂且忍怒，为了我的荣耀向你容忍，不将你剪除。

‘耶和华不轻易发怒，且有丰盛的慈爱。他赦免罪孽和过犯，万不以有罪的为无罪，必惩罚人的罪，从父到子，直到三、四代。’求你照你的大慈爱赦免这百姓的罪孽，好像你从埃及到如今饶恕这百姓一样。”耶和华说：“我照着你的话赦免他们。

耶和华在他面前经过，宣告：“耶和华，耶和华，有怜悯，有恩惠的神，不轻易发怒，且有丰盛的慈爱和信实，为千代的人存留慈爱，赦免罪孽、过犯和罪恶，万不以有罪的为无罪，必惩罚人的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代。”摩西急忙俯伏在地敬拜，说：“主啊，我若在你眼前蒙恩，求主在我们中间同行。虽然这是硬着颈项的百姓，求你赦免我们的罪孽和罪恶，接纳我们为你的产业。”

以色列家却在旷野中悖逆我，不顺从我的律例，厌弃我的典章；人若遵行就必因此存活。他们却大大干犯我的安息日。“因此我说，我要在旷野把我的愤怒倾倒在他们身上，灭绝他们。我这么做是为了我名的缘故，免得我的名在列国眼中被亵渎，因为在这些列国眼前我领了他们出来。

只是他们的儿女悖逆我，不顺从我的律例，也不谨守遵行我的典章；人若遵行就必因此存活。他们却干犯我的安息日。“因此我说，我要在旷野把我的愤怒倾倒在他们身上，向他们发尽我的怒气。但我却缩手而未如此行；我这么做是为了我名的缘故，免得我的名在列国眼中被亵渎，因为在这些列国眼前我领了他们出来。

他们却悖逆我，不肯听从我，不抛弃他们眼中所喜爱的可憎之物，离弃埃及的偶像。“我就说，在埃及地，我要把我的愤怒倾倒在他们身上，向他们发尽我的怒气。我这么做是为了我名的缘故，免得我的名在他们所居住之列国眼中被亵渎；我曾在这些列国眼前向他们显现，领他们出了埃及地。

亚们行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，效法他父亲玛拿西所行的。

虽然如此，我的眼仍顾惜他们，不毁灭他们，不在旷野把他们灭绝净尽。

雅各啊，要思念这些事；以色列啊，你是我的仆人。我造了你，你是我的仆人，以色列啊，我必不忘记你。我涂去你的过犯，像厚云消散；涂去你的罪恶，如薄雾消失。你当归向我，因我救赎了你。

他屡次搭救他们，他们却图谋悖逆，就因自己的罪孽降为卑下。然而，他听见他们哀告的时候，就眷顾他们的急难，为了他们，他记念自己的约，照他丰盛的慈爱改变心意，

耶和华吩咐摩西说：“你们离开这会众，我好立刻把他们灭绝。”他们二人就脸伏于地。摩西对亚伦说：“拿你的香炉，把祭坛的火盛在里面，加上香，赶快带到会众那里，为他们赎罪。因为有愤怒从耶和华面前发出，瘟疫已经开始了。”亚伦照摩西所说的拿了香炉，跑到会众中。看哪，瘟疫已经在百姓中开始了。他就加上香，为百姓赎罪。他站在活人和死人之间，瘟疫就止住了。
