When God went out against Egypt, he established it as a statute for Joseph. I heard an unknown voice say:

This he ordained in Joseph[ for] a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt:[ where] I heard a language[ that] I understood not.

He decreed it as a regulation in Joseph, when he attacked the land of Egypt. I heard a voice I did not recognize.

He appointed it in Joseph for a covenant, when he went out over the land of Egypt, I heard a language that I didn’t know.

維昔以色列族出自埃及、雅各全家、遠離異邦兮、

耶和華必使遠民、如鷹之飛、來自地極。攻擊爾曹、其方言爾不之識、

載在律法、主曰、雖以諸國方言、及異音諭斯民、其亦不聽我矣、於是以諸國方言為徵、非示信者、乃示不信者、以設教為徵、非示不信者、乃示信者、

耶和華告以色列族曰、遠方有國、歷年已久、其民強悍、其方言爾不識。其所語爾不明、我必使之攻爾。

拯爾選民、即雅各約瑟之子孫兮。

摩西謂法老曰、耶和華云、我中夜必遍行埃及、

以色列之牧者、導約瑟一族、若導群羊兮、請聽我祈、爾居𠼻𡀔［口氷］間、彰爾榮光兮、在以法蓮便雅憫、馬拿西前、奮爾之力、臨格以援予兮、

出埃及後摩西以法度禮儀、傳以色列族、

曰、我必以諸國方言及異音、普告斯民、

以最巨之盂、盛酒醴、以至貴之油、膏肌膚、於約瑟之難、毫不矜憫、其禍必不遠矣。

我耶和華是夜將遍行通國、擊埃及人長子、與畜首生者、凡埃及人之上帝我必敗之。

中夜耶和華遍行埃及、自居位之法老、至獄中之罪犯、凡其長子、及群畜首生者、無不被擊。

當曰、昔耶和華擊埃及人時、逾越我第宅、拯我眷聚、是以守逾越節、奉耶和華。

當告子孫、昔出埃及、耶和華拯我儕、故行此禮。耶和華以大能導爾曹出埃及、故其法律、必述於爾口、錄於爾手、服於爾顙、誌之勿失。

傳於後世、令彼將來、咸得而知、傳流靡已兮。

守我安息日、可為爾我間作徵、俾知我乃耶和華、爾之上帝。

厥後若爾子孫詰爾、行此曷故、爾宜告之、耶和華以大能導我出埃及、脫我於賤役、法老剛愎厥心、不釋我出境、耶和華遍戮埃及人之初胎男子、首生牡畜、故我以首生牡畜、獻祭耶和華、其初胎男子、則以金贖。耶和華以大能導我出埃及、故我必錄於手、服於顙。
