以色列、猶大、以東、三王偕往、紆途而行、歷程七日、軍旅及牲畜無水。以色列王曰、哀哉、耶和華集此三王、付之於摩押人手。約沙法曰、在此豈無耶和華之先知、容我問耶和華。以色列王之臣對曰、供以利亞盥手之役者、沙法子以利沙在此。約沙法曰、彼奉耶和華之命者歟。於是以色列王、及約沙法、與以東王、俱往見之。以利沙告以色列王曰、我與爾何與、爾父母亦有先知、可往問焉。以色列王曰、請毋言是、我知耶和華已集三王、付之與摩押人手。以利沙曰、我指所事萬有之主耶和華以誓、惟猶大王約沙法、我眷顧之、若祇爾一人、豈得蒙我眷顧乎。盍命鼓琴者至。琴既鼓焉、耶和華感之、遂曰、耶和華云、宜於谷中作諸溝澮、雖無風雨、水必盈於斯谷、使爾及牲畜咸飲。我視此猶為細事、亦將以摩押人付於爾手。邑垣之鞏固者、華麗者、爾可擊之、砍諸佳木、塞諸井泉、以石填諸腴壤。詰朝獻禮物之時、自以東道、有水忽至、充溢斯谷。
