我对你们说实话，当以利亚的时候，天闭塞了三年零六个月，遍地有大饥荒，那时，以色列中有许多寡妇，

基列寄居的提斯比人以利亚对亚哈说：“我指着所侍奉永生耶和华以色列的神起誓，这几年我若不祷告，必不降露，不下雨。”

我们有祸了！谁能救我们脱离这些大能之神的手呢？从前在旷野用各样灾殃击打埃及人的，就是这些神。

耶和华这样说：我要用我手里的杖击打河中的水，水就变作血；因此，你必知道我是耶和华。河里的鱼必死，河也要腥臭，埃及人就要厌恶吃这河里的水。’”耶和华晓谕摩西说：“你对亚伦说：‘把你的杖伸在埃及所有的水以上，就是在他们的江、河、池、塘以上，叫水都变作血。在埃及遍地，无论在木器中，石器中，都必有血。’”摩西、亚伦就照耶和华所吩咐的行。亚伦在法老和臣仆眼前举杖击打河里的水，河里的水都变作血了。河里的鱼死了，河也腥臭了，埃及人就不能吃这河里的水；埃及遍地都有了血。埃及行法术的，也用邪术照样而行。法老心里刚硬，不肯听摩西、亚伦，正如耶和华所说的。法老转身进宫，也不把这事放在心上。埃及人都在河的两边挖地，要得水喝，因为他们不能喝这河里的水。耶和华击打河以后满了七天。

所以你们要彼此认罪，互相代求，使你们可以得医治。义人祈祷所发的力量是大有功效的。以利亚与我们是一样性情的人，他恳切祷告，求不要下雨，雨就三年零六个月不下在地上。他又祷告，天就降下雨来，地也生出土产。

他打发他的仆人摩西和他所拣选的亚伦，在敌人中间显他的神迹，在含地显他的奇事。他命黑暗，就有黑暗；没有违背他话的。他叫埃及的水变为血，叫他们的鱼死了。在他们的地上以及王宫的内室，青蛙多多滋生。他说一声，苍蝇就成群而来，并有虱子进入他们四境。他给他们降下冰雹为雨，在他们的地上降下火焰。他也击打他们的葡萄树和无花果树，毁坏他们境内的树木。他说一声，就有蝗虫蚂蚱上来，不计其数，吃尽了他们地上各样的菜蔬和田地的出产。他又击杀他们国内一切的长子，就是他们强壮时头生的。

耶和华的话又临到我说：“人子啊，主耶和华对以色列地如此说：结局到了，结局到了地的四境！现在你的结局已经临到，我必使我的怒气归与你，也必按你的行为审判你，照你一切可憎的事刑罚你。我眼必不顾惜你，也不可怜你，却要按你所行的报应你，照你中间可憎的事刑罚你。你就知道我是耶和华。“主耶和华如此说：有一灾，独有一灾；看哪，临近了！结局来了，结局来了，向你兴起。看哪，来到了！境内的居民哪，所定的灾临到你，时候到了，日子近了，乃是哄嚷并非在山上欢呼的日子。我快要将我的忿怒倾在你身上，向你成就我怒中所定的，按你的行为审判你，照你一切可憎的事刑罚你。我眼必不顾惜你，也不可怜你，必按你所行的报应你，照你中间可憎的事刑罚你。你就知道击打你的是我耶和华。“看哪，看哪，日子快到了；所定的灾已经发出！杖已经开花，骄傲已经发芽。强暴兴起，成了罚恶的杖。以色列人，或是他们的群众，或是他们的财宝，无一存留；他们中间也没有得尊荣的。时候到了，日子近了，买主不可欢喜，卖主不可愁烦，因为烈怒已经临到他们众人身上。
