牠又被准許把氣息給那獸像，甚至使那獸像能說話，又使所有不膜拜那獸像的人都被殺死。牠還強迫所有的人，無論卑微的或尊貴的、富有的或貧窮的、自由的或為奴的，都在右手或額上接受印記；這樣，除了有這印記的人，誰都不可以買或賣，這印記就是獸的名字或牠名字的數目。智慧就在這裡。有理性的人應當計算這獸的數目，因為這是一個人的數目；其數目是六百六十六。

他們因自己的痛苦、因自己的瘡而褻瀆了天上的神，還是不悔改離開自己的行為。

你們為什麼不斷反叛，要一再受擊打呢？你們已經滿頭傷病，整個心都虛脫了。從腳掌到頭頂，體無完膚，都是創傷、鞭傷和血糊糊的傷口——沒有清理，沒有包紮，也沒有用油滋潤。

所以主必使錫安女子頭頂生瘡，耶和華必使她們的下體赤露。」

耶和華的手重重地壓在阿實突人身上，使他們驚恐不安；他用腫物擊打阿實突及其四境。

主的一位天使立刻擊打希律，因為他沒有把榮耀歸給神。他被蟲咬蝕，就斷了氣。

又有一個窮人，名叫拉撒路，滿身膿瘡，被放在財主的門口，渴望得到財主桌子上掉下來的碎渣充飢，甚至有狗來舔他的瘡。後來那窮人死了，被天使們帶到亞伯拉罕的懷裡。接著，那財主也死了，並且被埋葬了。

他們把它轉移過去之後，耶和華的手臨到那城，引起極大的恐慌；他擊打那城的人，無論老少都長出了腫物。

那時，腐臭必代替馨香，繩索代替腰帶，光禿代替美髮，束身麻衣代替華服，烙痕代替美貌。

他使東風從天上颳起，以他的力量引領南風；

於是坐在雲上的那一位向大地揮動他的鐮刀，大地的莊稼就被收割了。
