牠得了權柄、可以將生氣給獸的像，叫獸的像不但能說話，也能叫所有不拜獸像的人都被殺害。牠叫眾人、小的大的、富的窮的、自主的為奴的，都要給自己弄個印記、或在右手上、或在額上；叫人、除非有印記、有獸的名或獸名的數目的印記、就不能買，也不能賣。這裏就是需要智慧的地方。有心思的人可以計算這獸的數目；因為這是一個人名的數目：其數目是六百六十六。

由於所受的疼痛、和所生的瘡、人就褻瀆天上的上帝，也不改悔他們所行的。

永恆主對摩西、亞倫說：『你們要取幾捧燒窰的灰，讓摩西在法老眼前向天撒去。這灰就會在埃及全地變為飛塵；在埃及全地、在人身上和牲口身上就會成了起泡帶膿的瘡。』摩西、亞倫取了燒窰的灰，站在法老面前；摩西把灰向天撒去，灰在人身上和牲口身上就成了帶膿起泡的瘡。術士們因生瘡的緣故在摩西面前都站不住，因為術士們身上和一切埃及人身上都生着瘡。

永恆主必使一切病症離開你；你所知道埃及各樣的惡疾、他都不加在你身上，只加在一切恨你的人身上。

你們為甚麼悖逆了又悖逆，要繼續受責打呢？嘿，滿頭創痍，滿心全發暈。從腳掌到頭頂、沒有一處完全；盡是創傷、鞭痕、和流血的傷口；沒有擠乾，沒有綁紮，沒有用膏油滋潤着。

因此主必使錫安小姐頭頂長禿瘡；永恆主必使她們露現前額。

永恆主的手重重地擊打亞實突人，使他們淒涼，用鼠疫疱擊打他們，打亞實突和它的四境。

主的使者立時擊打希律，因為他不將榮耀歸與上帝，他被蟲子咬，就氣絕了。

永恆主必用埃及人的瘡、和鼠疫疱、牛皮癬、疥、擊打你，是你不能得醫治的。

又有一個討飯的名叫拉撒路，躺在他的大門口，生着瘡；巴不得從財主桌子上掉下來的東西以得喫飽。不但如此，連狗還來餂他的瘡呢！那討飯的死了；他被天使帶走，到亞伯拉罕懷裏。那財主也死了，並且埋葬了。

轉運到了以後，永恆主的手攻擊那城，那城非常紛亂驚慌；又擊打那城的人、無論大小都暴發了鼠疫疱。

這些事以後、永恆主擊打了約蘭，使他的腸子患了不能醫治的病。

你本身呢、必患重病，腸子的病，直到你的腸子因病日日沉重的緣故都墜出來。」』

於是撒但就從永恆主面前退出來。他便用毒瘡去擊打約伯，從腳掌到頭頂滿都是瘡。約伯拿瓦片去刮身體；坐在爐灰中。

必有臭爛代替香料；繩子代替腰帶；光禿代替整美髮；麻衣繫腰代替華服；丟臉代替美容。

他領了東風吹於天空，又用能力將南風引來。

那坐在雲上的一出動他的鐮刀到地上，地就被收割了。
