巴比倫素來是耶和華手中的金杯，使天下沉醉；萬國喝了她的酒就顛狂了。

哀哉！哀哉！這大城啊，素常穿着細麻、紫色、朱紅色的衣服，又用金子、寶石，和珍珠為妝飾。

這貨物就是金、銀、寶石、珍珠、細麻布、紫色料、綢子、朱紅色料、各樣香木、各樣象牙的器皿、各樣極寶貴的木頭，和銅、鐵、漢白玉的器皿，

我必用清水灑在你們身上，你們就潔淨了。我要潔淨你們，使你們脫離一切的污穢，棄掉一切的偶像。

所以你要對以色列家說，主耶和華如此說：你們仍照你們列祖所行的玷污自己嗎？仍照他們可憎的事行邪淫嗎？

就是你藉你僕人眾先知所吩咐的說：『你們要去得為業之地是污穢之地；因列國之民的污穢和可憎的事，叫全地從這邊直到那邊滿了污穢。

人不拘用甚麼法子，你們總不要被他誘惑；因為那日子以前，必有離道反教的事，並有那大罪人，就是沉淪之子，顯露出來。他是抵擋主，高擡自己，超過一切稱為神的和一切受人敬拜的，甚至坐在神的殿裏，自稱是神。我還在你們那裏的時候，曾把這些事告訴你們，你們不記得嗎？現在你們也知道，那攔阻他的是甚麼，是叫他到了的時候才可以顯露。因為那不法的隱意已經發動，只是現在有一個攔阻的，等到那攔阻的被除去，那時這不法的人必顯露出來。主耶穌要用口中的氣滅絕他，用降臨的榮光廢掉他。這不法的人來，是照撒但的運動，行各樣的異能、神蹟，和一切虛假的奇事，並且在那沉淪的人身上行各樣出於不義的詭詐；因他們不領受愛真理的心，使他們得救。

又有第二位天使接着說：「叫萬民喝邪淫、大怒之酒的巴比倫大城傾倒了！傾倒了！」

瑪拿西行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，效法耶和華在以色列人面前趕出的外邦人所行可憎的事。

她的污穢是在衣襟上；她不思想自己的結局，所以非常地敗落，無人安慰她。她說：耶和華啊，求你看我的苦難，因為仇敵誇大。

主說：我遇見以色列如葡萄在曠野；我看見你們的列祖如無花果樹上春季初熟的果子。他們卻來到巴力‧毗珥專拜那可羞恥的，就成為可憎惡的，與他們所愛的一樣。

他倒要敬拜保障的神，用金、銀、寶石和可愛之物敬奉他列祖所不認識的神。

他的判斷是真實公義的；因他判斷了那用淫行敗壞世界的大淫婦，並且向淫婦討流僕人血的罪，給他們伸冤。

假冒為善的宰牛，好像殺人，獻羊羔，好像打折狗項，獻供物，好像獻豬血，燒乳香，好像稱頌偶像。這等人揀選自己的道路，心裏喜悅行可憎惡的事。

在你污穢中有淫行，我潔淨你，你卻不潔淨。你的污穢再不能潔淨，直等我向你發的忿怒止息。

她怎樣待人，也要怎樣待她，按她所行的加倍地報應她；用她調酒的杯加倍地調給她喝。她怎樣榮耀自己，怎樣奢華，也當叫她照樣痛苦悲哀，因她心裏說：我坐了皇后的位，並不是寡婦，決不至於悲哀。

國中也有孌童。猶大人效法耶和華在以色列人面前所趕出的外邦人，行一切可憎惡的事。

把鍋倒空坐在炭火上，使鍋燒熱，使銅燒紅，鎔化其中的污穢，除淨其上的銹。

你們也看見他們中間可憎之物，並他們木、石、金、銀的偶像。
