爾自言我富厚有財、無所匱缺、不知爾實可憫、困苦、貧乏、瞽目、裸身、

爾自謂富有、綽有餘裕、而無所欠缺；殊不知爾實為百無聊賴、貧窮不堪、盲而裸者。

You say,‘ I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.

You say,“ I am rich. I’ve become wealthy and don’t need anything.” But you don’t realize how pitiful and miserable you have become. You are poor, blind and naked.

For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.

You say,‘ I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.

For you say,‘ I’m rich; I have become wealthy and need nothing,’ and you don’t realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.

Because you say,“ I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have no need of anything,” and you do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked,

One person pretends to be rich, yet has nothing; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth. (niv)

What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? (niv)

Ephraim boasts,“ I am very rich; I have become wealthy. With all my wealth they will not find in me any iniquity or sin.” (niv)

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. (niv)

Their buyers slaughter them and go unpunished. Those who sell them say,‘ Praise the Lord, I am rich!’ Their own shepherds do not spare them. (niv)

But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. (niv)

I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, (niv)

Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble. (niv)

Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say,‘ Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. (niv)

Who is blind but my servant, and deaf like the messenger I send? Who is blind like the one in covenant with me, blind like the servant of the Lord? (niv)

Already you have all you want! Already you have become rich! You have begun to reign— and that without us! How I wish that you really had begun to reign so that we also might reign with you!For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like those condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to human beings.We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! “ You of this generation, consider the word of the Lord:“ Have I been a desert to Israel or a land of great darkness? Why do my people say,‘ We are free to roam; we will come to you no more’? (niv)

Now you, if you call yourself a Jew; if you rely on the law and boast in God;if you know his will and approve of what is superior because you are instructed by the law;if you are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light for those who are in the dark,an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of little children, because you have in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth—you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal?You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? (niv)
