爾所受所聞者、當記憶謹守、亦當悔改、如爾不警醒、我必忽臨爾如盜之至、爾不能知我何時臨爾、

應回憶所受所聞之教義拳拳服膺、而痛悔前失。如再不醒寤、吾必襲爾、猶不速之客突如其來、爾固無從逆知其時刻也。

不過，主再來的日子要像賊一樣突然臨到。那日，諸天必在一聲巨響中消失，有形有質的都要被烈火焚毀，大地和其中的一切將不復存在。

所以，你們要警醒，因為你們不知道你們的主會在哪一天來。你們都知道，如果一家的主人知道賊會在半夜幾點來，就必警醒，不讓賊入屋偷竊。

「你們都知道，一家的主人若預先知道賊什麼時候來，一定不會讓賊入屋偷竊。同樣，你們也要做好準備，因為在你們意想不到的時候，人子就來了。」

「看啊！我要像賊一樣出其不意地來到。那警醒等候，看守自己衣裳，不致赤身行走蒙受羞辱的人有福了。」

親愛的弟兄姊妹，我現在寫給你們的是第二封信。這兩封信都是為了提醒你們，激勵你們保持真誠的心，

然而，弟兄姊妹，你們不是活在黑暗裡，因此那日子不會像賊一樣突然臨到你們。你們都是光明之子，白晝之子。我們既不屬於黑夜，也不屬於黑暗。所以不要像其他人一樣沉睡，要警醒戒備，

「所以，你們要警醒，因為你們不知道我回來的日子和時辰。

提摩太啊，你要持守所託付給你的，避開世俗的空談和那些違背真理、似是而非的學問。

因此，我們必須更加重視所聽的道，以免隨流漂去。

但你們要好好持守自己已經得到的，一直到我來。

你們要小心，警醒禱告，因為你們不知道那日子何時來到。

那時，你們便會想起自己邪惡的行徑，並因自己的罪惡和可憎行為而厭惡自己。

凡我所愛的，我都會責備、管教。因此，你要熱心起來，也要悔改。

別讓他突然回來時看到你們在睡覺。

我曾給她悔改的機會，她卻不肯悔改、離棄自己的淫亂行為，所以我必叫她臥病在床。那些與她有染的人若不悔改，也必遭受極大的苦難。

你要以在基督耶穌裡的信心和愛心，把從我這裡聽到的正確教導當作典範遵守，

你接納你姊妹的時候，會想起自己的所作所為並自覺羞愧。我要將你姊妹賜給你作女兒，我這樣做並不是出於我與你所立的約。我要和你立約，使你知道我是耶和華。我要赦免你所有的罪，那時你想起這事會羞愧難當，不敢再開口。這是主耶和華說的。』」

我覺得應當趁著我還在世的時候提醒你們，激勵你們，

我很快就要來了！你要持守你所擁有的，免得有人奪去你的冠冕。

你們在那裡會想起以往玷污自己的行徑，並因自己的一切惡行而憎惡自己。』
