I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong—

I long to see you. I want to make you strong by giving you a gift from the Holy Spirit.

For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord.

For I want very much to see you, so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you,

Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages

I know that when I come to you I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.

Now after these events Paul resolved in the Spirit to pass through Macedonia and Achaia and go to Jerusalem, saying,“ After I have been there, I must also see Rome.”

while they long for you and pray for you, because of the surpassing grace of God upon you.

And the spirit of the king longed to go out to Absalom, because he was comforted about Amnon, since he was dead.

For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.

Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?Did you suffer so many things in vain— if indeed it was in vain?Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith—

and we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s coworker in the gospel of Christ, to establish and exhort you in your faith,

so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved.

comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.

And they rose early in the morning and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. And when they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said,“ Hear me, Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established; believe his prophets, and you will succeed.”

Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have.

But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.

Therefore it says,“ When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.”( In saying,“ He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth?He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,

And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability.But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

So the churches were strengthened in the faith, and they increased in numbers daily.

By Silvanus, a faithful brother as I regard him, I have written briefly to you, exhorting and declaring that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it.

And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us,

so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.

For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough.

for he has been longing for you all and has been distressed because you heard that he was ill.

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed.You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led.Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says“ Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say“ Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit.Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit;and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord;and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit,to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.

Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.

And David said longingly,“ Oh, that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem that is by the gate!”

And now you have gone away because you longed greatly for your father’s house, but why did you steal my gods?”
