以福音而論、若輩固因爾之故、而為天主之悖逆矣；若就簡選論之、則若輩托祖宗餘蔭依然為天主之所親也。

As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs,

As far as the good news is concerned, the people of Israel are enemies. This is for your good. But as far as God’s choice is concerned, the people of Israel are loved. This is because of God’s promises to the founders of our nation.

As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers.

Many of the people of Israel are now enemies of the Good News, and this benefits you Gentiles. Yet they are still the people he loves because he chose their ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Regarding the gospel, they are enemies for your advantage, but regarding election, they are loved because of the patriarchs,

In relation to the gospel they are enemies on your account, but in relation to God’s choice they are beloved on account of the fathers;

Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.

As touching the gospel, they are enemies for your sake: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sake.

Regarding the gospel, they are enemies for your advantage, but regarding election, they are loved because of the patriarchs,

“ Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them.He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David( as he said through his holy prophets of long ago),salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us—to show mercy to our ancestors and to remember his holy covenant,the oath he swore to our father Abraham:to rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve him without fearin holiness and righteousness before him all our days. who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and also drove us out. They displease God and are hostile to everyonein their effort to keep us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved. In this way they always heap up their sins to the limit. The wrath of God has come upon them at last. (niv)

Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen. (niv)

Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, (niv)

Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. (niv)

“ But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend,I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said,‘ You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. (niv)

But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. (niv)

“ Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit. (niv)

“‘ But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors— their unfaithfulness and their hostility toward me,which made me hostile toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies— then when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they pay for their sin,I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land. (niv)

For the Lord your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your ancestors, which he confirmed to them by oath. (niv)

He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful (niv)

He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations,the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant:“ To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit.” (niv)

Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. (niv)

What then? What the people of Israel sought so earnestly they did not obtain. The elect among them did, but the others were hardened, (niv)

I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, (niv)

For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! (niv)

It is not because of your righteousness or your integrity that you are going in to take possession of their land; but on account of the wickedness of these nations, the Lord your God will drive them out before you, to accomplish what he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. (niv)

When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy. They began to contradict what Paul was saying and heaped abuse on him.Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly:“ We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. (niv)

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying:“ I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. (niv)

You will be faithful to Jacob, and show love to Abraham, as you pledged on oath to our ancestors in days long ago. (niv)

The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples.But it was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. (niv)

But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up the other Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers. (niv)

But when they opposed Paul and became abusive, he shook out his clothes in protest and said to them,“ Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent of it. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.” (niv)
