if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

Is it encouraging others? Then encourage them. Is it giving to others? Then give freely. Is it being a leader? Then work hard at it. Is it showing mercy? Then do it cheerfully.

the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.

If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

Each one must do just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

The elders who lead well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.

And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, and various kinds of tongues.

Judas and Silas, also being prophets themselves, encouraged and strengthened the brothers and sisters with a lengthy message.

not abandoning our own meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

After the reading of the Law and the Prophets, the synagogue officials sent word to them, saying,“ Brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say it.”

For our exhortation does not come from error or impurity or by way of deceit;

You shall give generously to him from your flock, your threshing floor, and from your wine vat; you shall give to him as the Lord your God has blessed you.

Sow your seed in the morning and do not be idle in the evening, for you do not know whether one or the other will succeed, or whether both of them alike will be good.

you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God.

For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing.

Because of the proof given by this ministry, they will glorify God for your obedience to your confession of the gospel of Christ and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all,

Until I come, give your attention to the public reading, to exhortation, and teaching.

Slaves, obey those who are your human masters in everything, not with eye service, as people pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.

But the noble person devises noble plans; And by noble plans he stands.

“ So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, so that they will be praised by people. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,so that your charitable giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.

and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God, you, your son and your daughter, and your male and female slaves, and the Levite who is in your town, and the stranger, the orphan, and the widow who are in your midst, at the place where the Lord your God chooses to establish His name.

You meet him who rejoices in doing righteousness, Who remembers You in Your ways. Behold, You were angry, for we sinned, We continued in our sins for a long time; Yet shall we be saved?

But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, your minds will be led astray from sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all.For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses would sell them and bring the proceeds of the salesand lay them at the apostles’ feet, and they would be distributed to each to the extent that any had need.

“ If I have kept the poor from their desire, Or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,Or have eaten my morsel alone, And the orphan has not shared it( But from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, And from my infancy I guided her),If I have seen anyone perish for lack of clothing, Or that the needy had no covering,If his waist has not thanked me, And if he has not been warmed with the fleece of my sheep,

But we ask you, brothers and sisters, to recognize those who diligently labor among you and are in leadership over you in the Lord, and give you instruction,and that you regard them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another.We urge you, brothers and sisters, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

and you shall rejoice in your feast, you, your son and your daughter, and your male and female slaves, and the Levite, the stranger, the orphan, and the widow who are in your towns.For seven days you shall celebrate a feast to the Lord your God in the place which the Lord chooses, because the Lord your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you will be altogether joyful.

Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

The wicked borrows and does not pay back, But the righteous is gracious and gives.

But the one who prophesies speaks to people for edification, exhortation, and consolation.

Now He looked up and saw the wealthy putting their gifts into the temple treasury.And He saw a poor widow putting in two lepta coins.And He said,“ Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all of them;for they all contributed to the offering from their surplus; but she, from her poverty, put in all that she had to live on.”

For our proud confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and godly sincerity, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you.

For if the willingness is present, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.

For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him.”

He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity( but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?),

Slaves, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as to Christ;

He has given freely to the poor, His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted in honor.

One who is generous will be blessed, Because he gives some of his food to the poor.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity, planning, knowledge, or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.

And the King will answer and say to them,‘ Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of Mine, you did it for Me.’

Is it not to break your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh?Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your recovery will spring up quickly; And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; You will cry for help, and He will say,‘ Here I am.’ If you remove the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness,And if you offer yourself to the hungry And satisfy the need of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness, And your gloom will become like midday.And the Lord will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.

Now, brothers and sisters, we make known to you the grace of God which has been given in the churches of Macedonia,that in a great ordeal of affliction their abundance of joy and their deep poverty overflowed in the wealth of their liberality.For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they gave voluntarily,begging us with much urging for the favor of participation in the support of the saints,and this, not as we had expected, but they first gave themselves to the Lord and to us by the will of God.So we urged Titus that as he had previously made a beginning, so he would also complete in you this gracious work as well.But just as you excel in everything, in faith, speaking, knowledge, and in all earnestness and in the love we inspired in you, see that you also excel in this gracious work.I am not saying this as a command, but as proving, through the earnestness of others, the sincerity of your love as well.For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.

Then the proconsul believed when he saw what had happened, being amazed at the teaching of the Lord.

Obey your leaders and submit to them— for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account— so that they may do this with joy, not groaning; for this would be unhelpful for you.

No longer will the fool be called noble, Or the rogue be spoken of as generous.

in the same way we had a fond affection for you and were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us.

One of them, named Agabus, stood up and indicated by the Spirit that there would definitely be a severe famine all over the world. And this took place in the reign of Claudius.And to the extent that any of the disciples had means, each of them determined to send a contribution for the relief of the brothers and sisters living in Judea.And they did this, sending it with Barnabas and Saul to the elders.

but you shall fully open your hand to him, and generously lend him enough for his need in whatever he lacks.Be careful that there is no mean spirited thought in your heart, such as,‘ The seventh year, the year of release of debts, is near,’ and your eye is malicious toward your poor brother, and you give him nothing; then he may cry out to the Lord against you, and it will be a sin in you.You shall generously give to him, and your heart shall not be grudging when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your work, and in all your undertakings.For the poor will not cease to exist in the land; therefore I am commanding you, saying,‘ You shall fully open your hand to your brother, to your needy and poor in your land.’

And all the believers were together and had all things in common;and they would sell their property and possessions and share them with all, to the extent that anyone had need.Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,

When he had gone through those regions and had given them much encouragement, he came to Greece.

But I urge you, brothers and sisters, listen patiently to this word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.

Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their way of life, imitate their faith.

Greet all of your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.

I will sing of mercy and justice; To You, Lord, I will sing praises.I will carefully attend to the blameless way. When will You come to me? I will walk within my house in the integrity of my heart.I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me.A perverse heart shall leave me; I will know no evil.Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will destroy; I will not endure one who has a haughty look and an arrogant heart.My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; One who walks in a blameless way is one who will serve me.One who practices deceit shall not dwell within my house; One who speaks lies shall not maintain his position before me.Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, So as to eliminate from the city of the Lord all those who do injustice.

Cast your bread on the surface of the waters, for you will find it after many days.Divide your portion to seven, or even to eight, for you do not know what misfortune may occur on the earth.

Be hospitable to one another without complaint.As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the multifaceted grace of God.Whoever speaks is to do so as one who is speaking actual words of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not with greed but with eagerness;nor yet as domineering over those assigned to your care, but by proving to be examples to the flock.
