如是、試問我祖亞伯拉罕依其形軀所得者、何耶、

曰、何以稱之、吾祖亞伯拉罕徒事儀文、有所得乎、

然則我祖亞伯拉罕、我儕可謂其以本身所行者以本身所行者原文作循肉體何所得乎、

即就吾祖亞伯漢而論、若祇憑其本身之智力、亦何所得乎？

What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, discovered in this matter?

What should we say about these things? What did Abraham, the father of our people, discover about being right with God?

What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh?

Abraham was, humanly speaking, the founder of our Jewish nation. What did he discover about being made right with God?

What then will we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has found?

What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has found?

What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh?

What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, hath found according to the flesh?

What then can we say that Abraham, our physical ancestor, has found?

What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?

What then shall we say that Abraham, our ancestor according to the flesh, has discovered regarding this matter?

What then will we say that Abraham, our forefather, has found according to the flesh?

Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring— not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. (niv)

look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah, who gave you birth. When I called him he was only one man, and I blessed him and made him many. (niv)

Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they Abraham’s descendants? So am I. (niv)

They answered him,“ We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?” (niv)

So he called to him,‘ Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’“ But Abraham replied,‘ Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. “ Fellow children of Abraham and you God- fearing Gentiles, it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent. (niv)

Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. (niv)

Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.” (niv)

What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said,“ You shall not covet.” (niv)

I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word.I am telling you what I have seen in the Father’s presence, and you are doing what you have heard from your father.”“ Abraham is our father,” they answered.“ If you were Abraham’s children,” said Jesus,“ then you would do what Abraham did.As it is, you are looking for a way to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things.You are doing the works of your own father.”“ We are not illegitimate children,” they protested.“ The only Father we have is God himself.” (niv)

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (niv)

“ Abraham replied,‘ They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’“‘ No, father Abraham,’ he said,‘ but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’“ He said to him,‘ If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’” (niv)

Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the prophets. Who do you think you are?” (niv)

And do not think you can say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. (niv)

Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! (niv)

What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? (niv)
