不寧惟是、吾人雖處患難、心中恆有至樂。蓋知患難所以生堅忍、

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;

And that’s not all. We are full of joy even when we suffer. We know that our suffering gives us the strength to go on.

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.

And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance,

And not only this, but we also celebrate in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;

And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;

And not only so, but we also rejoice in our tribulations: knowing that tribulation worketh stedfastness;

And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance,

And not only[ so], but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,

Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance;

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. (niv)

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. (niv)

But he said to me,“ My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed.“ Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” (niv)

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?As it is written:“ For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false believers.I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked.Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches.Who is weak, and I do not feel weak? Who is led into sin, and I do not inwardly burn?If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness. (niv)

They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness.No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. (niv)

However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? (niv)

For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him, (niv)
