I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

I don’t understand what I do. I don’t do what I want to do. Instead, I do what I hate to do.

I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.

For I do not understand what I am doing, because I do not practice what I want to do, but I do what I hate.

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.

Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.

The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.

Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.

But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal:“ The Lord knows those who are his,” and,“ Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.”

save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.

The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who has no reason to pass judgment on himself for what he approves.

You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.”

The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.

Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the Lord, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

Now if I do what I do not want, I agree with the law, that it is good.

Behold, I long for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life!

I hate and abhor falsehood, but I love your law.

Therefore I consider all your precepts to be right; I hate every false way.

Who can discern his errors? Declare me innocent from hidden faults.

for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

The righteous hates falsehood, but the wicked brings shame and disgrace.

So you are witnesses and you consent to the deeds of your fathers, for they killed them, and you build their tombs.

He plots trouble while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject evil.
