萬物歸於虛、非其心、蓋有使之者、

萬物歸於虛、非其所願、乃有使之者、然仍有望、

夫芸芸眾生、迄今屈伏於無常之下、非出自願、有制之者耳。

The created world was held back from fulfilling its purpose. But this was not the result of its own choice. It was planned that way by the one who held it back. God planned

And he called his name Noah, saying,“ This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord has cursed.”

“ Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher;“ Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.”

For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.

Yes, the deer also gave birth in the field, But left because there was no grass.And the wild donkeys stood in the desolate heights; They sniffed at the wind like jackals; Their eyes failed because there was no grass.”

How long will the land mourn, And the herbs of every field wither? The beasts and birds are consumed, For the wickedness of those who dwell there, Because they said,“ He will not see our final end.”

And God said to Noah,“ The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

They have made it desolate; Desolate, it mourns to Me; The whole land is made desolate, Because no one takes it to heart.

How the animals groan! The herds of cattle are restless, Because they have no pasture; Even the flocks of sheep suffer punishment.

The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, Because they have transgressed the laws, Changed the ordinance, Broken the everlasting covenant.Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, And those who dwell in it are desolate. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, And few men are left.

Therefore the land will mourn; And everyone who dwells there will waste away With the beasts of the field And the birds of the air; Even the fish of the sea will be taken away.

The tents of robbers prosper, And those who provoke God are secure— In what God provides by His hand.“ But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; And the birds of the air, and they will tell you;Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; And the fish of the sea will explain to you.Who among all these does not know That the hand of the Lord has done this,In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?
