如果神有意要显明他的忿怒，彰显他的大能，而多多容忍那可怒、预备遭毁灭的器皿，

但如果神想要显出他的震怒，显明他的能力，就以极大的耐心容忍那些承受震怒的器皿，就是他早已预备要归于灭亡的器皿，那又怎么样呢？

但如果神想要顯出他的震怒，顯明他的能力，就以極大的耐心容忍那些承受震怒的器皿，就是他早已預備要歸於滅亡的器皿，那又怎麼樣呢？

若上帝欲彰其怒、示其能、以恆忍包容可怒之器、備以毀敗者、

上帝欲彰厥威、示其能、每恆忍包容諸可怒可毀之器、

倘若天主、雖欲彰其怒、並示其能、仍恆忍寛容可怒當滅之器、

若天主欲宣其威而彰其德、對於可惡可毀之器、已予百般容忍、

What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath— prepared for destruction?

What if God chose to show his great anger? What if he chose to make his power known? But he put up with the people he was angry with. They were made to be destroyed.

What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,

In the same way, even though God has the right to show his anger and his power, he is very patient with those on whom his anger falls, who are destined for destruction.

And what if God, wanting to display his wrath and to make his power known, endured with much patience objects of wrath prepared for destruction?

Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. ‘ The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.’ (niv)

The Lord said to Moses,“ How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the signs I have performed among them? (niv)

to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, (niv)

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (niv)

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. (niv)

Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. (niv)
