糧食不是在我們眼前斷絕了麼？歡喜快樂不是從我們的上帝殿中止息了麼？穀種在耙子底下都萎縮了；倉房淒涼，廩室翻毁，因為五穀令人失望了。牲口哀鳴着，牛羣滿處亂竄，因為找不到草場；羊羣也餓得發獃。永恆主啊，我是向你呼求的；因為有火燒滅了野地的草場，有火燄燒盡了田野的樹木。連田野的走獸也向你發喘；因為有水的溪河都乾涸了，有火燒滅了野地的草場。

田野毁壞，土地悲哀；因為五穀毁壞，新酒池令人失望，新油衰萎不繼。耕地的人很失望，修理葡萄園的哀號着，為了大麥小麥而悲哀；因為田間的莊稼都壞掉了。

你帶出到田間的種子雖多，收進來的卻少，因為蝗蟲要把它嘬盡了。
