耶和华见利亚失宠，就使她生育，拉结却不生育。

女儿啊，现在不要惧怕，凡你所说的，我必为你做，因为我城里的百姓都知道你是个贤德的女子。

他使不孕的妇女安居家中，成为快乐的母亲，儿女成群。哈利路亚！

我祈求为要得这孩子，耶和华已将我向他所求的赐给我了。

愿耶和华从这年轻女子赐你后裔，使你的家像她玛从犹大所生法勒斯的家一样。”

亚伯拉罕向神祷告，神就医好亚比米勒和他的妻子，以及他的使女们，他们就能生育。因耶和华为亚伯拉罕的妻子撒拉的缘故，已经使亚比米勒家中的妇人不能怀孕。耶和华照着他所说的眷顾撒拉，耶和华实现了他对撒拉的应许。亚伯拉罕年老，到神对他说的那所定的时候，撒拉怀了孕，给他生了一个儿子。亚伯拉罕给撒拉所生的儿子起名叫以撒。

神顾念拉结，应允她，使她能生育。拉结怀孕生子，说：“神除去了我的羞耻。”

雅各对拉结生气，说：“是我代替神使你生不出孩子的吗？”

以撒因他妻子不生育，就为她祈求耶和华。耶和华应允他的祈求，他的妻子利百加就怀了孕。

饱足的人作雇工求食；饥饿的人也不再饥饿。不生育的生了七个；儿女多的反倒孤独。
