年長婦女、舉止亦宜溫恭有禮、毋道人短、或沉湎於酒、務須循循善誘、

Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.

The aged women likewise, that[ they be] in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

Older women likewise are to exhibit behavior fitting for those who are holy, not slandering, not slaves to excessive drinking, but teaching what is good.

and that older women likewise be reverent in behavior, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good,

Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, (niv)

In the same way, the women are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything. (niv)

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands, (niv)

I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God. (niv)

Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless— not overbearing, not quick- tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. (niv)

In the same way, deacons are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. (niv)

I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of his people and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been the benefactor of many people, including me. (niv)

The widow who is really in need and left all alone puts her hope in God and continues night and day to pray and to ask God for help.But the widow who lives for pleasure is dead even while she lives.Give the people these instructions, so that no one may be open to blame.Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.No widow may be put on the list of widows unless she is over sixty, has been faithful to her husband,and is well known for her good deeds, such as bringing up children, showing hospitality, washing the feet of the Lord’s people, helping those in trouble and devoting herself to all kinds of good deeds. In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! (niv)

Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. (niv)

But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. (niv)

Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses. (niv)
