因此，我願年輕的寡婦結婚，生兒育女，管理家務，不給敵人有辱罵的機會；

如果有人傳別的教義，不接受我們的主耶穌基督純正的話語，和那敬虔的道理，

如果有人不聽從我們這封信上的訓勉，要把這個人記下來，不可和他來往，好叫他自己覺得慚愧。

他說完了這些話，那些與他為敵的人都慚愧；群眾卻都因他所行一切榮耀的事歡喜。

耶穌見他回答得有智慧，就對他說：“你距離神的國不遠了。”從此再也沒有人敢問他了。

那經學家對耶穌說：“老師，是的，你說的很對，神是獨一的，除了他以外再沒有別的神。

有一個經學家，聽到他們的辯論，覺得耶穌回答得好，就來問他：“誡命中哪一條是第一重要的呢？”

因耶和華的話而戰兢的人哪！你們要聽他的話。他說：“你們的兄弟，就是那些憎恨你們、因我的名趕走你們的，曾說：‘願耶和華得榮耀；讓我們看見你們的喜樂。’他們卻要蒙羞。

耶穌說：“凱撒的應當歸給凱撒，神的應當歸給神。”他們就對他十分驚奇。
