The angel of the Lord gave this charge to Joshua:

Then the angel spoke to Joshua. He said,

And the angel of the Lord solemnly assured Joshua,

Then the angel of the Lord spoke very solemnly to Jeshua and said,

And the angel of the Lord admonished Joshua, saying,

Yahweh’s angel protested to Joshua, saying,

“ This is the same Moses they had rejected with the words,‘ Who made you ruler and judge?’ He was sent to be their ruler and deliverer by God himself, through the angel who appeared to him in the bush.He led them out of Egypt and performed wonders and signs in Egypt, at the Red Sea and for forty years in the wilderness.“ This is the Moses who told the Israelites,‘ God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your own people.’He was in the assembly in the wilderness, with the angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our ancestors; and he received living words to pass on to us. (niv)

Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right side to accuse him. (niv)

He struggled with the angel and overcame him; he wept and begged for his favor. He found him at Bethel and talked with him there— (niv)

“ See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since my Name is in him. (niv)

Then he blessed Joseph and said,“ May the God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked faithfully, the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day,the Angel who has delivered me from all harm— may he bless these boys. May they be called by my name and the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and may they increase greatly on the earth.” (niv)

The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second timeand said,“ I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, (niv)

From the time I brought your ancestors up from Egypt until today, I warned them again and again, saying,“ Obey me.” (niv)

In all their distress he too was distressed, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old. (niv)

There above it stood the Lord, and he said:“ I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying.Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought,“ Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.”He was afraid and said,“ How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven.” (niv)
