猶大長老因先知哈該和易多的孫子撒迦利亞所說勸勉的話就建造這殿，凡事亨通。他們遵着以色列神的命令和波斯王塞魯士、大流士、亞達薛西的旨意，建造完畢。大流士王第六年，亞達月初三日，這殿修成了。

於是這設巴薩來建立耶路撒冷神殿的根基。這殿從那時直到如今尚未造成。』

對他說，萬軍之耶和華如此說：看哪，那名稱為大衛苗裔的，他要在本處長起來，並要建造耶和華的殿。他要建造耶和華的殿，並擔負尊榮，坐在位上掌王權；又必在位上作祭司，使兩職之間籌定和平。

百姓到了耶路撒冷神殿的地方。第二年二月，撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯，約薩達的兒子耶書亞和其餘的弟兄，就是祭司、利未人，並一切被擄歸回耶路撒冷的人，都興工建造；又派利未人，從二十歲以外的，督理建造耶和華殿的工作。於是猶大的後裔，就是耶書亞和他的子孫與弟兄，甲篾和他的子孫，利未人希拿達的子孫與弟兄，都一同起來，督理那在神殿做工的人。匠人立耶和華殿根基的時候，祭司皆穿禮服吹號，亞薩的子孫利未人敲鈸，照以色列王大衛所定的例，都站着讚美耶和華。他們彼此唱和，讚美稱謝耶和華說：他本為善，他向以色列人永發慈愛。他們讚美耶和華的時候，眾民大聲呼喊，因耶和華殿的根基已經立定。然而有許多祭司、利未人、族長，就是見過舊殿的老年人，現在親眼看見立這殿的根基，便大聲哭號，也有許多人大聲歡呼，甚至百姓不能分辨歡呼的聲音和哭號的聲音；因為眾人大聲呼喊，聲音聽到遠處。

使他們都合而為一。正如你父在我裏面，我在你裏面，使他們也在我們裏面，叫世人可以信你差了我來。

但我有比約翰更大的見證；因為父交給我要我成就的事，就是我所做的事，這便見證我是父所差來的。差我來的父也為我作過見證。你們從來沒有聽見他的聲音，也沒有看見他的形像。

因為神差他的兒子降世，不是要定世人的罪，乃是要叫世人因他得救。

萬軍之耶和華說，「在顯出榮耀之後，差遣我去懲罰那擄掠你們的列國，摸你們的就是摸他眼中的瞳人。看哪，我要向他們掄手，他們就必作服事他們之人的擄物，你們便知道萬軍之耶和華差遣我了。

那時，必有許多國歸附耶和華，作他的子民。他要住在你中間，你就知道萬軍之耶和華差遣我到你那裏去了。

就是判斷人，我的判斷也是真的；因為不是我獨自在這裏，還有差我來的父與我同在。你們的律法上也記着說：『兩個人的見證是真的。』我是為自己作見證，還有差我來的父也是為我作見證。」

仰望為我們信心創始成終的耶穌。他因那擺在前面的喜樂，就輕看羞辱，忍受了十字架的苦難，便坐在神寶座的右邊。

你們要就近我來聽這話：我從起頭並未曾在隱密處說話；自從有這事，我就在那裏。現在，主耶和華差遣我和他的靈來。

我還告訴你，你是彼得，我要把我的教會建造在這磐石上；陰間的權柄不能勝過他。

遠方的人也要來建造耶和華的殿，你們就知道萬軍之耶和華差遣我到你們這裏來。你們若留意聽從耶和華－你們神的話，這事必然成就。
