And Judah assembled to seek help from the Lord; from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.

Consecrate a fast; call a solemn assembly. Gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land to the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord.

Why should they say among the peoples,‘ Where is their God?’”Then the Lord became jealous for his land and had pity on his people.

Hear the word of the Lord, you rulers of Sodom! “ I have forsaken my house; I have abandoned my heritage; I have given the beloved of my soul into the hands of her enemies.My heritage has become to me like a lion in the forest; she has lifted up her voice against me; therefore I hate her.Is my heritage to me like a hyena’s lair? Are the birds of prey against her all around? Go, assemble all the wild beasts; bring them to devour.

In the path of your judgments, O Lord, we wait for you; your name and remembrance are the desire of our soul.My soul yearns for you in the night; my spirit within me earnestly seeks you. For when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.

Ah, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the Lord, they have despised the Holy One of Israel, they are utterly estranged.Why will you still be struck down? Why will you continue to rebel? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.From the sole of the foot even to the head, there is no soundness in it, but bruises and sores and raw wounds; they are not pressed out or bound up or softened with oil.
