“ You Ethiopians also, You shall be slain by My sword.”

古实人哪，你们必被我的刀所杀。

你们古实人，也是被我的刀所杀的。

古实人啊，你们必死在耶和华的刀下。

古实人哪！你们也必被我的刀剑所杀。

古實人哪，你們必被我的刀所殺。

你們古實人，也是被我的刀所殺的。

古實人啊，你們必死在耶和華的刀下。

古實人哪！你們也必被我的刀劍所殺。

你們呢、古實人哪，你們也必給我的刀刺殺。

古實人歟、爾亦必見戮於我刃、

惟爾古實族、我必加以利刃、

古實人歟、爾曹亦必為我刃所戮、

“ You Cushites, too, will be slain by my sword.”

The Lord says,“ People of Cush, you too will die by my sword.”

You also, O Cushites, shall be slain by my sword.

“ You Ethiopians will also be slaughtered by my sword,” says the Lord.

You Cushites will also be slain by my sword.

“ You also, Ethiopians, will be slain by My sword.”

Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword.

You Cushites will also be slain by My sword.

Ye Ethiopians also, ye[ shall be] slain by my sword.

“ You Ethiopians will also die by my sword!”

You Cushites also, you will be killed by my sword.

The sword shall come upon Egypt, And great anguish shall be in Ethiopia, When the slain fall in Egypt, And they take away her wealth, And her foundations are broken down.“ Ethiopia, Libya, Lydia, all the mingled people, Chub, and the men of the lands who are allied, shall fall with them by the sword.”‘ Thus says the Lord:“ Those who uphold Egypt shall fall, And the pride of her power shall come down. From Migdol to Syene Those within her shall fall by the sword,” Says the Lord GOD.“ They shall be desolate in the midst of the desolate countries, And her cities shall be in the midst of the cities that are laid waste.Then they will know that I am the Lord, When I have set a fire in Egypt And all her helpers are destroyed.On that day messengers shall go forth from Me in ships To make the careless Ethiopians afraid, And great anguish shall come upon them, As on the day of Egypt; For indeed it is coming!”

so shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians as prisoners and the Ethiopians as captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.Then they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation and Egypt their glory.

Come up, O horses, and rage, O chariots! And let the mighty men come forth: The Ethiopians and the Libyans who handle the shield, And the Lydians who handle and bend the bow.For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, A day of vengeance, That He may avenge Himself on His adversaries. The sword shall devour; It shall be satiated and made drunk with their blood; For the Lord GOD of hosts has a sacrifice In the north country by the River Euphrates.

Woe to the land shadowed with buzzing wings, Which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia,Which sends ambassadors by sea, Even in vessels of reed on the waters, saying,“ Go, swift messengers, to a nation tall and smooth of skin, To a people terrible from their beginning onward, A nation powerful and treading down, Whose land the rivers divide.”All inhabitants of the world and dwellers on the earth: When he lifts up a banner on the mountains, you see it; And when he blows a trumpet, you hear it.For so the Lord said to me,“ I will take My rest, And I will look from My dwelling place Like clear heat in sunshine, Like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.”For before the harvest, when the bud is perfect And the sour grape is ripening in the flower, He will both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks And take away and cut down the branches.They will be left together for the mountain birds of prey And for the beasts of the earth; The birds of prey will summer on them, And all the beasts of the earth will winter on them.In that time a present will be brought to the Lord of hosts From a people tall and smooth of skin, And from a people terrible from their beginning onward, A nation powerful and treading down, Whose land the rivers divide— To the place of the name of the Lord of hosts, To Mount Zion.

“ You are My battle-ax and weapons of war: For with you I will break the nation in pieces; With you I will destroy kingdoms;With you I will break in pieces the horse and its rider; With you I will break in pieces the chariot and its rider;With you also I will break in pieces man and woman; With you I will break in pieces old and young; With you I will break in pieces the young man and the maiden;With you also I will break in pieces the shepherd and his flock; With you I will break in pieces the farmer and his yoke of oxen; And with you I will break in pieces governors and rulers.

Arise, O Lord, Confront him, cast him down; Deliver my life from the wicked with Your sword,

“ Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger And the staff in whose hand is My indignation.

“ O you sword of the Lord, How long until you are quiet? Put yourself up into your scabbard, Rest and be still!How can it be quiet, Seeing the Lord has given it a charge Against Ashkelon and against the seashore? There He has appointed it.”

They come from a far country, From the end of heaven— The Lord and His weapons of indignation, To destroy the whole land.

For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.
