  • Esther 1:20 - So when the king’s great decree is proclaimed throughout his [extensive] kingdom, all women will give honor to their husbands, from the great to the insignificant.”

  • Exodus 5:9 - Let labor be heavier on the men, and let them work [hard] at it so that they will pay no attention to [their God’s] lying words.”
  • 1 Kings 12:10 - The young men who had grown up with him answered, “This is what you should say to this people who told you, ‘Your father made our yoke heavy, but as for you, make our yoke lighter’—say this to them: ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s loins [and my reign will be even more severe].

  • Exodus 5:16 - No straw is given to your servants, yet they say to us, ‘Make bricks!’ And look, your servants are being beaten, but it is the fault of your own people.”
