Nehemiah 5:15 - But there had been governors before me. They had put a heavy load on the people. They had taken a pound of silver from each of them. They had also taken food and wine from them. Their officials had acted like high and mighty rulers over them. But because of my great respect for God, I didn’t act like that.
1 Thessalonians 3:10 - Night and day we pray very hard that we will see you again. We want to give you what is missing in your faith.

1 Corinthians 9:6 - Or are Barnabas and I the only ones who have to do other work for a living? Are we the only ones who can’t just do the work of apostles all the time?
1 Corinthians 9:7 - Who serves as a soldier but doesn’t get paid? Who plants a vineyard but doesn’t eat any of its grapes? Who takes care of a flock but doesn’t drink any of the milk?
1 Timothy 4:10 - This is why we work and try so hard. It’s because we have put our hope in the living God. He is the Savior of all people. Most of all, he is the Savior of those who believe.
2 Corinthians 11:9 - When I was with you and needed something, I didn’t cause you any expense. The believers who came from Macedonia gave me what I needed. I haven’t caused you any expense at all. And I won’t ever do it.
2 Thessalonians 3:7 - You know how you should follow our example. We worked when we were with you.
2 Thessalonians 3:8 - We didn’t eat anyone’s food without paying for it. In fact, it was just the opposite. We worked night and day. We worked very hard so that we wouldn’t cause any expense to any of you.
2 Thessalonians 3:9 - We worked, even though we have the right to receive help from you. We did it in order to be a model for you to follow.
Acts 18:3 - They were tentmakers, just as he was. So he stayed and worked with them.
