  • Ezekiel 38:14 - “Therefore, son of man, prophesy against Gog. Give him this message from the Sovereign Lord: When my people are living in peace in their land, then you will rouse yourself.
  • Ezekiel 38:15 - You will come from your homeland in the distant north with your vast cavalry and your mighty army,
  • Ezekiel 38:16 - and you will attack my people Israel, covering their land like a cloud. At that time in the distant future, I will bring you against my land as everyone watches, and my holiness will be displayed by what happens to you, Gog. Then all the nations will know that I am the Lord.
  • Ezekiel 38:17 - “This is what the Sovereign Lord asks: Are you the one I was talking about long ago, when I announced through Israel’s prophets that in the future I would bring you against my people?

  • Romans 9:17 - For the Scriptures say that God told Pharaoh, “I have appointed you for the very purpose of displaying my power in you and to spread my fame throughout the earth.”
  • Romans 9:18 - So you see, God chooses to show mercy to some, and he chooses to harden the hearts of others so they refuse to listen.
  • Romans 9:19 - Well then, you might say, “Why does God blame people for not responding? Haven’t they simply done what he makes them do?”
  • Romans 9:20 - No, don’t say that. Who are you, a mere human being, to argue with God? Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it, “Why have you made me like this?”
  • Romans 9:21 - When a potter makes jars out of clay, doesn’t he have a right to use the same lump of clay to make one jar for decoration and another to throw garbage into?
  • Romans 9:22 - In the same way, even though God has the right to show his anger and his power, he is very patient with those on whom his anger falls, who are destined for destruction.
  • Romans 9:23 - He does this to make the riches of his glory shine even brighter on those to whom he shows mercy, who were prepared in advance for glory.
  • 2 Timothy 2:10 - So I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen.
  • 1 Thessalonians 3:3 - and to keep you from being shaken by the troubles you were going through. But you know that we are destined for such troubles.

  • Acts of the Apostles 13:48 - When the Gentiles heard this, they were very glad and thanked the Lord for his message; and all who were chosen for eternal life became believers.

  • Romans 11:7 - So this is the situation: Most of the people of Israel have not found the favor of God they are looking for so earnestly. A few have—the ones God has chosen—but the hearts of the rest were hardened.
  • 1 Thessalonians 1:10 - And they speak of how you are looking forward to the coming of God’s Son from heaven—Jesus, whom God raised from the dead. He is the one who has rescued us from the terrors of the coming judgment.
