  • Genesis 9:25 - He said, “May a curse be put on Canaan! He will be the lowest of slaves to his brothers.”

  • Deuteronomy 28:21 - He will send all kinds of sicknesses on you. He’ll send them until he has destroyed you. He’ll remove you from the land you are entering to take as your own.
  • Deuteronomy 28:22 - The Lord will make you sick and very weak. He will strike you with fever and swelling. He’ll send burning heat. There won’t be any rain. The hot winds will completely dry up your crops. All those things will happen until you die.
  • Deuteronomy 28:23 - The sky above you will be like bronze. The ground beneath you will be like iron.
  • Deuteronomy 28:24 - The Lord will turn the rain of your country into dust and powder. It will come down from the skies until you are destroyed.
  • Deuteronomy 28:25 - The Lord will help your enemies win the battle over you. You will come at them from one direction. But you will run away from them in every direction. All the kingdoms on earth will be completely shocked when they see you.
  • Deuteronomy 28:26 - Birds and wild animals will eat up your dead bodies. There won’t be anyone left to scare them away.
  • 2 Kings 1:10 - Elijah answered the captain, “If I’m really a man of God, may fire come down from heaven! May it burn up you and your 50 men!” Then fire came down from heaven. It burned up the captain and his men.
  • 2 Kings 1:11 - After that happened, the king sent another captain to Elijah. The captain had his 50 men with him. He said to Elijah, “Man of God, the king says, ‘Come down at once!’ ”
  • 2 Kings 1:12 - Elijah replied, “If I’m really a man of God, may fire come down from heaven! May it burn up you and your 50 men!” Then the fire of God came down from heaven. It burned up the captain and his 50 men.
  • Judges 9:57 - God also made the people of Shechem pay for all the evil things they had done. The curse of Jotham came down on them. He was the son of Jerub-Baal.
  • 1 Kings 19:17 - Jehu will put to death anyone who escapes Hazael’s sword. And Elisha will put to death anyone who escapes Jehu’s sword.
  • Judges 9:20 - But if you haven’t, let fire come out from Abimelek and burn you up! And let fire come out from you and burn Abimelek up!”

  • Jeremiah 29:22 - Because of what happens to them, people will use their names when they curse someone. All those who have been taken from Judah to Babylon will use their names in that way. They will say, ‘May the Lord treat you like Zedekiah and Ahab. The king of Babylon burned them in the fire.’
  • Jeremiah 29:23 - That will happen because they have done awful things in Israel. They have committed adultery with their neighbors’ wives. They have spoken lies in my name. I did not give them the authority to speak those things. I know what they have done. And I am a witness to it,” announces the Lord.
  • Amos 7:17 - “But the Lord says, “ ‘Your wife will become a prostitute in the city of Bethel. Your sons and daughters will be killed by swords. Your land will be measured and divided up.
